Unless you're already familiar with Suicide Girls, since it has been around for a while, you might not know what to expect based on the name alone. Or maybe the pierced, punked, alternative models are exactly what you had in mind. These aren't your typical nude models. These are your urban girls next door, real chicks with real attitudes, and it is downright sexy. Suicide Girls is more than just a porn site, it's also a community, which really adds to its unique appeal. Suicide Girls has even won accolades from the mainstream world, with MTV, Spin Magazine, and Wired Magazine all singing the praises of this deliciously erotic underground world.
The Goods -
This is a site with personality. You see it everywhere, from the in depth model bios to the section descriptions and the people that make up this wild website. Along those lines, there is a real community here made up of both members and models. To get started you'll want to fill out your own profile with info on who you are, what kind of body mods you have, where you lost your viriginity, etc. Reading others' profiles is highly entertaining. There are some really interesting people on this site. Next you can interact. There are hundreds of member groups covering every topic imaginable and most of the groups are very active, with multiple posts daily. You can also chat on the message boards, keep a journal, hook up in the personals section, and even attend SG events worldwide.
Having been around for a while now, Suicide Girls is an impressively large site. They current offer 1,028 models in 101,010 pictures, along with 10,231 articles and over 14 million user comments. They add three updates every day and, considering how active the community features are, there's always something new to see.
Navigating the site is pretty easy. The content is nicely organized and can be browsed alphabetically, chronologically, geographically, by photographer, etc. The design is clean and attractive and the graphics are nicely made. It's very easy to get around, especially once you're familiar with SG.
Suicide Girls is really inexpensive to join. Membership is just $12 a month, an awesome price for this much good stuff.
The Bads -
The video section isn't quite as strong as the photo section is. It's quite a bit smaller with just 78 movies and updates at just once a week. That's still respectable by other site standards, it's just quite a bit less than their own picture section offers. Additionally, there aren't really any video options. The movies are all in Quicktime with no choices other than stream or download. They definitely look nice enough, but more features are always better.
While the newest galleries look awesome, some of the older sets show their age. The older pictures are small, all the way down to 533x400, and they're just not quite as sharp as the newer images. They don't look bad, but just when compared with the newer sets they're not as good.
Conclusion -
It's plain to see why Suicide Girls has the reputation it does as THE site for sexy alternative models and kick-ass community. They've got it all, a huge collection, daily updates, original and unique content, personality, interaction, and it's unbelievably inexpensive. What's not to like? Ok, it's not for everyone. Fans of big boobed blondes should probably move right along. But if you're in the mood for something different, you can't go wrong with Suicide Girls. Highly recommended!
