SugarVOD is up for review today, and as the title would suggest, they offer up porn movies in a Video On Demand setup. That basically means you'll buy a package of minutes, and only pay for the actual minutes that you watch any videos they offer. It looks like a very standard VOD site, with over 4,000 DVD's available, and the same look/layout that most other similar sites use. You can browse through the movies in the tour, which should be the only unique factor possibly, to see if you like what you see. Otherwise, grab a package and get inside ($30 will buy you 310 minutes for example).
The goods:
- Lots of movies up. As with most any VOD site, there should be a ton of content up. This is one of the smaller ones, and it still offers 4,000+ DVD's right now. That makes for a lot of content overall.
- Streaming videos work well. It may be the the quality is a little lower than we're used to, but the streaming videos started up right away, and it was easy to move around the scene quite quickly.
- Decent search feature. If you hit their advanced search link up top, you're taken to a nice little page where you can find some pretty specific scenes. Options include searching the movie name, description, performers, directors, and studios. You can also browse through lists for most of those if that's better. Plus, you can select up to eight categories to find that perfect scene offering Latin girls masturbating in the summer while lactating all over someone's hairy bush who happens to be popping a balloon while in a hospital that squirts when she cums.
The bads:
- Updates are hard to figure out. Every movie is dated, both the year it was shot, and when it was added to the site. On top of that, there are two sections that list the newest movies. Unfortunately, both of them do not have the newest movies, and just display random shit from the past year or so which is very strange.
- Quality could be better for a DVD site. Considering they only offer videos here, I would hope they could bump the quality up as high as possible to give more for your money here. They looked fine enough, but weren't at the top of the list by any means.
- Navigation could still be better. For instance, there are no links to scenes here, you just have to click around in a video to find the beginning or end. Other changes I'd love are bigger boxcovers, some preview pics, possibly a visual model's index, etc.
Conclusion:
For me, SugarVOD was a very normal VOD site in the end. There's lots of content, they seem like they update, all the standard browse/search features are there, etc. Beyond that, they didn't really offer a ton new or extra to help them stand apart at all. Unless their content collection is on the unique/exclusive side of life, SugarVOD just blends into all the other similar sites for me.
