Every so often we reviewers run into a site that really does stand out from the crowd. Strip Search Videos is one of those simply because of the prisoner strip search style movies. This is a gay niche site that incorporates several other niches as well such as voyeur, uniforms, and reality videos. The tour pages offer up some helpful samples that'll let you peer into what style of movies they have for members.
The Goods:
- Unique Police Strip Search Vids. The strip search idea is the key thing they're offering.. The content revolves around video episodes and they forego picture galleries which is just fine for this style of site. The movies average around 10 minutes in length and generally consist of one guy being strip searched by several cops. A few of the episodes are different with group searches.
- Written Summaries & Preview Pics. Decent info is posted for the individual episodes. They have the model name and a written summary of the action. A handful of preview screen-cap pictures are also posted that provide preview information for the movies.
- Update Info & Vid Specs Posted. The final bits of information listed includes the update info and video file details. Generally speaking the updates are done at a rate of one new episode per week. Sometimes they do go two weeks between updates. The video details include the length in minutes in file size in MB.
The Bads:
- No Sound on Some Older Episodes. The sound on the movies seemed to be hit-and-miss with some of the older episodes not having any sound at all. This definitely takes away from the entertainment value of the movies. They seemed to have addressed this by putting sound on the newer vids but the lack of it on older movies is very noticeable.
- Average Video Quality. The video options include full movie files that are average quality WMV format. Instead of having other formats or additional quality levels they offer these additional choices: Slow Motion and Close Up. They're exactly what they sound like and are definitely different choice than I'm used to seeing.
- High Price, Some Upsells. The monthly price is certainly on the high end as far as paysites go. This is especially true since this is a stand alone site with an average amount of content. Although not overly obtrusive they do have some large banner ads for other paysites mixed in among the episode pages.
Conclusion:
It's the style of content at Strip Search Videos that stands out most. Other than the videos that don't have sound the execution of the concept is well done. One thing I didn't touch on yet is the site design. It's okay and didn't really need to be listed as a Good or Bad bullet point. The episodes are listed chronologically on a number of pages which makes navigation rather uncomplicated.
