Strictly Broadband is a pay-per-view video site featuring thousands of DVDs for your on-demand enjoyment. This is a British run website, so there are special touches throughout that make the site stand out from other similar sites, including some different categories and video series. The entire collection is browseable to guests, so you may want to see for yourself.
The Goods –
They’ve got thousands of DVDs to choose from. There are currently over 4,500 full-length DVDs in their collection. They’ve got movies in all the mainstream categories (facials, gangbangs, big tits, teens, etc), along with some more unusual titles. It was really interesting to see an entire category dedicated to Big Brother (you know, the reality show) and the babes who became porno actresses after their appearances.
The videos look good. They play in Windows Media Player at 1100k and are 720x480 in size. They’re not quite DVD quality, but overall they look good.
Getting around is fairly easy. In addition to categories, you can browse by actress and studio and there’s also a keyword search. Each scene offers “related categories” that you may enjoy. There’s also a “Favourites” folder where you can save the scenes you like most.
The Bads –
Things can get expensive fast. A single movie costs $8 for a one week rental, or $16 for a year rental. Consider that there are other sites out there that give you unlimited, permanent access to these same movies for $30 a month (or less!), and this just isn’t a very good value.
All of the videos are streaming-only. When you purchase access to a movie, you get to watch it for seven days. You must pay to access it again. It’s a bummer that you’re paying $8 for a single movie and you don’t even get to hold onto it permanently.
None of the content here is exclusive. That should be expected on a DVD archive site like this, and in fact, finding your favorite movies is part of the fun. However, just keep in mind that you won’t find anything original here.
Conclusion –
With a slightly different UK take on things, Strictly Broadband does stand out a bit from other DVD archives. Overall, though, for regular mainstream titles, I just don’t see going with a pay-per-view join over standard paysite. Why pay $8 to rent a single movie when you could pay $20 or so and actually download hundreds? However, if you’re looking for something unique that Strictly Broadband offers, then by all means check out. The site and videos are all entertaining enough to be worth a try.
