Stop the Camera is up for review today, and it's a different type of site than you usually see. They offer up all the porn bloopers and behind the scene moments that make a porn scene what it is. Some sites offer this stuff as a little bonus content, but they've put together a full, large site here with only this stuff. It's part of the Hardcore Network too, which means you get a bunch of regular porn too if you need something a little extra. Membership runs $35 a month, which is a bit high for me.
The goods:
- Unique content. I'm not sure how exciting it is for most people, but it's different than what you usually see out there at least. You get a peek into what happens before and after a shoot, and sometimes when they mess up in the middle.
- Good network included. This is almost better as part of a network than a standalone site, as I can't see anyone really getting off on this stuff. They have some great sites included here to keep you busy with normal porn scenes.
- Large site. I was surprised how much content they have for this type of site. They have over 500 scenes currently, which is pretty damn good.
The bads:
- May not be for everyone. It's interesting to browse around for a while, but I'd say it's more of a one off site for me than something I'd want to check in on regularly. It'll kill some time, but I didn't get real turned on or anything obviously.
- Updates seem erratic. The last updates were a couple weeks ago, when they had several in a row for a couple days. There aren't many dates around, so it's tough to guess, but at a minimum they can have some large breaks in updates here.
- Non-exclusive content. A lot of the scenes are from older porn, and definitely aren't exclusive. I'm not sure where they get this stuff though.
- Navigation could be better. I wouldn't mind some categories to find certain types of content here. Plus, the layout isn't the best as it wastes a lot of space. The look and feel of the member's area overall was just a bit plain for me.
Conclusion:
Overall, Stop the Camera is an interesting idea, and they do it pretty well here. My main concern was just the amount of content they could find, which isn't a big problem evidently. The big drawbacks are the expense, the random updates, and the plain site. The niche could be a problem as well, as I don't think it'll be for everyone, but you can decide if it sounds interesting for yourself. At least there's a lot to see, and updates are coming.
