SeanCody.com is obviously named after one guy but it has the feel of general gay site than an individual performer site. It's a collection of original shoots that are a mix of solo guy and guy/guy hardcore (some groups too). The guest tour is quite informative with an "About" page that gives the low down on Sean plus the navigation allows guests to view the site exactly as member's see it.
The Goods:
- Exclusive Gay Solo/Hardcore, Lots of Shoots. The content entertainment value is what stands out most here. The fact that it's an all original collection is a great foundation plus Sean just has a whole bunch of shoots already. I mean, the total number is well into the hundreds which is excellent for a site like this. The two components of the variety are that he has hardcore action along with solo performances. Also, the info says the models are a mix of gay, straight, and bi guys which also brings into play the "straight guy" micro-niche which is quite popular.
- High-Def Videos, WMV & QT Formats. The video quality is a strength throughout the collection though they have recently made the jump to high-res movies and added the QT format too. Many shoots have Large, Medium, and Small WMV files which provide good quality choices but the newer movies have the X-Large HD files plus four levels of QT too. All the choices are full-movie files which work well in relation to the file sizes.
- Sharp Design, Model/Shoot Summaries. The overall graphics and design look very professional and this is consistent throughout the guest tour on through the member's section. The individual episode pages have written shoot/model, there are links to other appearances by the models, and they post the video specs/files sizes. The main navigation choices include browsing chronologically and by model name.
The Bads:
- Fewer Format Options on Older Vids. Since I pointed out the leap Sean has taken to have high-res movies on the newer additions it's fair and important to note that a large amount of the content has fewer choices. While his Large file choice is above average quality it isn't quite the same as the HD choice. This is something to note for those who are especially keen on video specs, quality, choices, etc.
- Could Use Content Categorization. The site design comes up short in a couple of ways and mostly it's due to the fact that Sean has so much content online already. Also, because the overall look of the design is professional I know he could do better when it comes to organization and navigation tools. For instance the model index needs pictures in addition to text. Also, some categories would help for filtering to find hardcore or solo, guys by physical characteristics, or straight, gay, or bi models. Basically the navigation tools are fairly under-developed.
- Lacking Update Info/Schedule. Update information is the one bit of data that isn't provided at all. There isn't any sort of a history of recent additions (other than those appearing earliest on the episode list) and the individual episode page have nothing to go on either. They do pretty well in providing details in other areas like vid specs and written summaries so the lack of update info stands out.
Conclusion:
Taking a look at Sean Cody as a whole it's a really good paysite that should appeal to a wide audience. The exclusivity, models, video quality, amount of content, and design all come together to build a solid foundation. The few negative items I listed are things that chip away at the value but the positives far outweigh the negatives here.
