Ruby's Diary is home to the solo model Ruby Day. There's quite an extensive biography page available on the guest tour which lays out that she's more than just a website girl. Ruby has done modeling work for magazines and in a national print ad. Most solo girl sites don't feature models with that kind of resume and her site has more of a professional style to it than many others.
The Goods:
- Nice Design & Site Personality. Both the guest tour and member's area have a nice design that is pretty well done. The style fits her content which is a mix of solo fetish shoots along with boy/girl and girl/girl. The fetish action isn't hardcore but falls more into the light fetish areas like latex, leather, and seduction. The design includes dated pictures and videos along with an updates log on the member's home page.
- Good Quality Pics & Vids. The pictures are at just a high enough level to be rated as 'hi-res' under TBP content quality guidelines. Along with the 1280 pixel high quality there is a medium level for each gallery as well. The videos are in QT and are nice quality as well.
- Regular/Lengthy Journal Updates. She basically sticks with the journal as the main method of member interaction. Considering that she does a very nice job of posting daily updates there with some of her daily events as well as some anecdotes about life.
The Bads:
- Average Amount of Content. The size of Ruby's site is on the small side. This includes the number of photo galleries, videos, and interaction/addt'l features. Even the photo galleries themselves have a small-ish number of pics (around 6-40 each). Most videos fall into the 5-15 minute range.
- QuickTime/iPod Vid Format. While the video quality is pretty high the only format is QuickTime/iPod. QT isn't my favorite format and I'd like to see at least some option for viewing in a media player. The majority of surfers use that as their main player so some format associated with that would be helpful.
Conclusion:
Going by the update log Ruby is making regular updates, usually several per week. It'll be interesting to see how the site grows over time. As it is now the $29.95/mo price seems a bit high when compared to the amount of content available. Many smaller solo girl sites are on the mid-low end of the paysite price range so Ruby's rate surprised me a bit. Overall her main selling point is the stylish content and design. That's a good foundation from which to grow from.

Ruby's site continues to progress with steady updates to all aspects of the content. Throughout the different sections all of the galleries and videos are clearly dated so it's easy to track the additions. The interaction via the Ruby's journal entries haven't missed a beat either with daily entries usually including a pic along with her writings. Candid photos and videos are another dimension of her interaction. In this area the only content piece she doesn't have are webcam shows although she does a good job making up for it with the other features. QuickTime has stayed her video format of choice which is an important point for those who are picky on video formats. While the overall quantity of material has grown Ruby still has an average sized site but she clearly enjoys her creation and it's a well done solo girl site.

TBP has now looked at Ruby’s site a few times over recent years and what still stands out is the steadiness of her journal, blog, and interaction. It’s the rare performer that always keeps features like that up to date but Ruby does exactly that. When you mix in things like the behind-the-scenes videos and message board you get a well rounded amount of interaction that stays fresh. Her photo diary galleries, art erotic galleries, and videos sections continue to grow although the pace on those is significantly slower than thing like the journal updates. On the content format front the defining characteristics continue to be the high-res pics and the QT/iPod movie formatting. Because Ruby puts so much emphasis on her journal/blog her site does have a more personable feel than a lot of other solo performers.
Score increased from 78.5 to 80.0.
