The website for famed Playboy photographer Ron Harris is back up for review today. We've looked at his site several times, and it's time to clear the clutter and start fresh here. Ron Harris is a glamour photographer, and Playboy Magazine has dubbed him the King of Erotica. His website is made in the "pursuit of teen beauty and real orgasms," and I say he does just that. Be prepared for some great content and quality here. Membership is pretty expensive at $35 a month, so I guess the best doesn't come cheap!
The goods:
- Quality is outstanding. Ron's photos have always looked great, and they continue that tradition today. They come in as high as 4368x2912, and specifics such as lighting and poses are always as perfect as can be. The newer videos can be seen as large as 1080p HD videos (1920x1080p), and look just as perfect in terms of quality.
- Updates come regularly. The site boasts multiple weekly updates, but I generally saw something new coming up once a week, which is still decent at least.
- Lots of content viewing options. Pictures come in three sizes online, plus can be downloaded in a zip file. Videos come in both Quicktime and WMV options, with three quality options each (720x406, 1280x720, and 1920x1080), plus an iPod/iPhone version that can be streamed or downloaded.
The bads:
- Content is split up into sub-sites. He put some of his older stuff onto different sites within the member's area, which can make navigation a bit confusing. I'm a fan of his newest stuff at Ron Harris Studio, but the older sites are hit and miss. There are just too many places to get lost here.
- Expensive. $35 is a lot to pay for porn these days when you can find some great stuff for almost half that price. Granted those other sites don't feature Ron Harris' content, so maybe it's all worth your while.
- I thought there'd be more content overall. For being around so long and photographing so many women, I'm really surprised his site isn't much larger here. Maybe his jump into the internet was a bit late, but I'd still ask for more content, especially for the high price.
Conclusion:
There's no doubt Ron Harris produces some outstanding content here. The quality by itself is amazing, and then you add in beautiful models and scenes, and it makes it all the better. His newer site is doing well as a site should, with multiple options in terms of browsing, viewing, etc. His older sites here aren't that great, but at least the content is still available I guess. Mostly I'd love to see some growth here, as I'm sure he has a lot of content available that isn't shown here. Hopefully going forward they'll continue to grow and improve, as the content is definitely awesome.
