TBP has done several reviews of Ron Harris over the years and now it's time for a full re-review of what he has to offer. Ron is a professional photographer and this site is a collection of his photos and videos which fit into the photography, glamour, softcore, and masturbation niches. My thought has always been that a stand alone paysite is an excellent way for individual photographers to showcase their work and offer it directly to an audience instead of having to publish a book or magazine or go through a third party adult company. The way he sets things up this RonHarris.com is the centerpiece of his work but member's also get access to his Harris Archives sites which has archived material.
The Goods:
- Exclusive Pics/Vids, Beautiful Models. Ron Harris delivers an impressive library of his work which features sexy models in stylish glamour shoots. Ron has been doing this for years and he has what you might expect from a guy with his resume. For those who like a softcore shoots of gorgeous models this is a nice original collection that defintely has value.
- High & Ultra High-Res Pictures/Videos. One key item for a site like this is the content quality. Ron Harris comes through with flying colors in this area which is great to see. The highest res pics reach ultra high levels as you can see in the site fact details on the TBP listing (we're talking about 4000 pixels). Basically the higest level pics were so large I found myself using the medium quality pics which is unheard of for me! Even the medium level is high res plus there is a smaller size and zip file downloads. The quality on the videos is of equal level with WMV and QT options plus an iPod format too.
- Model Index & Nice Content Spec Info. These are the two design items that help make things user friendly. There are picture and video sections but the best navigation method is with the alphabetical model index - it's straightforward and functional. Ron does an excellent job at posting specs on all the content. The galleries have pixel info for the different sizes and the zip files have the file size in MB. The videos have clip specs, length in minutes, and file size in MB.
The Bads:
- No Full-Video Files, Just Clips. All in all Ron has plenty of downloading options although this is the one that is not available. The movies are offered in clips in all the WMV, AT, and iPod formats. The clips tend to be around 4-5 minutes each and I think that even though full-movie files would be large due to the quality I think them not being an option is a negative for download junkies.
- Room For Faster Updates, Higher Price. These are a couple items that ding away at the value of the site. Generally glamour photography sites tend to be some of the fastest updating sites out there. Daily additions are a regular occurance in that niche. Ron Harris comes in at about one new addition per week. The monthly price is $34.99 which is on the high end of paysite rates so that's worth noting too.
- Avg Design, Could Use More Tools. While the model index is a nice option the thing Ron hasn't done is broken his content down into different categories. The picture and video pages are pretty lengthy with lots of scrolling so some additional organization on those pages would help.
Conclusion:
All told Ron Harris is a quality photography site where the collection is up to standards for a softcore glamour photography site. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives and Ron delivers on the items that are crucial for a glamour site. The quality level on the content is the biggest plus and it's an all original collection. This has been should continue to be a highly rated site into the future.
