Intro

Restrained Elegance is where bondage meets glamour in over 39,727 images and 123 video shoots from the fetish photography of Hywel Phillips. Members are promised daily updates and a new video every Wednesday. The images are full-screen quality and the site specializes in "stringent barefoot bondage", with "world-famous bondage models plus glamour and fashion models who discovered their submissive nature on Restrained Elegance". The price of admission is set at $29.95, which then recurs at a lower $27.95 per month thereafter.

The Pros

Original Bondage Content & Gorgeous Models.

The content is exclusive, but the gorgeous models may be found on other site. It goes to say, that of his models are, indeed, very good looking and he does all sorts of things to them...ties them up with scarves, ropes, or chains, uses nipple clamps and handcuffs on them, and paddles, whips, teases, tickes, and even shocks them. This isn't half assed bondage either. You'll find everything from "simple rope ties and elegant metal shackles that look almost like jewelry at first glance, through to extreme ultra-stringent shibari- or Japanese- style ropewebs, suspensions, hogties, strappados and heavy metal stocks and manacles." It's very sexy and very serious.

High Quality Content.

Images look sharp, most of the time they are more than full-screen quality and never look overly airbrushed or "faked". Even the videos look spectacular for files with bitrates between 2000k and 4000k (960x544). I've seen sites claiming to have HD quality videos that don't offer quality that sharp!

Daily Updates.

It's incredible that Restrained Elegance has been able to keep up with a daily update schedule for such a period of time. The amount of thought and effort put into each shoot makes this an even more important detail to point out.

Other Good Stuff:

The site design is kept clean and simple. Users get around by using the archives & updates, model index, special features pages, and with the help of a keyword search feature, as well as an advanced search feature.
Hywel keeps a good read of a blog on the main member's page. It's more like a news blog, but he also gives members a glimpse of what it's like to shoot some of the scenes, scene locations, etc.
Price drops after the first month. I've always liked this set-up as I think it gives users an extra incentive to stick around.

The Cons

No Model Bios.

For such an interesting and personality-filled site, I'm surprised there isn't more information given about the girls themselves. There is a model index, and each girl has their own page, so I was really hoping to read a little bit about each one.

Video Quality Could Still Be Better.

Although they look great, I would love to see some actual HD quality (1280x720 plus) videos being added. This is not to say the current video quality is bad, per se, I just would love to see full-screen quality videos being added in the future.

Minor Negatives:

Referencing my past reviews of Restrained Elegance, there is a chance that content is rotated through in order to achieve the daily update schedule.
Download speeds were slow.

Bottom Line

Glamour photography with some bondage & fetish flare to it.

Overall Restrained Elegance is a nice site for exclusive, high-quality bondage & fetish glamour content that is by no means extreme but rather more imaginative and artistic featuring gorgeous models and a great variety of set-ups. There's an active members forum to check out as well as plenty of bonuses, blogs and scene info. Model bios and HD quality video downloads would be my hope for the future of this site, but for now it's hard to knock something as unique and good as this.
