Real Spankings is all content and no design. The pictures and videos shows that these folks are spanking experts; I just wish they'd go out and hire a web design expert to clean up the site. For some reason they've built the member's area of simple text charts and used bright blue, red, and yellow as the colors, it’s downright hideous. At the same time, the site has enough original spanking content to completely overcome the design problems. Let's put it this way, Spankings aren't really my style, but I gotta admit Real Spankings stuff is pretty fun to watch. There's no filler content either, every gallery and video on the site contains spanking action (although a small percent of scenes mix in additional punishments like bondage, breast torture, etc).
Clearly the spankers are skilled at what they do. They use hands, paddles, straps, canes, rulers, and other implements to make asses incredibly red. Sometimes the cheeks are worked over enough to bring out colors like purple, blue, and black colors. They'll even mix it up by occasionally spanking through clothes including jeans, dresses, and panties. While some chicks keep straight faces, there's a whole lot of wincing, screaming, and crying from the girls getting spanked. One thing I especially like is that both guys and girls administer the spankings; it's more fun to see a chick wail away on another's girl's ass. I even got a couple laughs from the opening scenes of some of the videos that started with cheesy and poorly acted intros. It's stupid stuff about why one person has to spank the other like they were late and didn't call or didn't clean up the house as told. Academy Award winners they're not, but it's all in good fun. The real key to the content is the high level of intensity throughout the shoots, lots of serious pain is administered.
The number of picture galleries and videos is the same (212 of each as of 2/10/05). Each shoot has both videos and pictures. The only downside is that it makes all the picture galleries less interesting, I mean why look at pics when you can see a video of the same action? I found myself using the pics only as a preview guide to see if I wanted to watch the video. The worst thing about the site, besides the design, is the use of Real Player. All the videos are in this format and most are offered as two clips. I dislike Real mostly because it forces you to reenter your username and password for every clip. It doesn't take long for that to become a pain in the ass (pun intended). Considering the format, I will say the video quality is decent. Videos added in '04 and '05 look good, the '03 and older stuff is a bit more grainy.
The $21.95/mo price is fine although the site does have other temptations that could cost you more money. 1000Kb pay-per-view downloads are available for their full length movies (around 60-90 mins each). Starting at $9.95 each that could add up fast. The good thing is the download is yours forever with unlimited plays, this isn't a rental or DRM thing. There's also a DVD/VHS store where the movies start at $44.95 each - wow, prices like that make the downloads look much more attractive. Even with these upsells and the site's poor design, spanking enthusiasts will still enjoy what Real Spankings has to offer content-wise. Check it out if you’re into this sort of thing.
