Raw XXX Network is making some changes to try and keep pace with the current trends in the internet porn world. Let's face it; you surfers are getting more and savvier about what paysites you join. For years this network has succeeded with sharp looking tours that promise the world and member's areas that deliver mostly purchased content like run-of-the-mill video feeds and old photo sets. That stuff doesn't go over as well as it used to. Just a glance at TheBestPorn's top 20 sites shows that there is top quality porn for a fair price if you know where to look. Apparently Raw XXX is catching on and all their new site additions focus on reality porn.
Even though they're trying to step up and provide some exclusive content, the network's heart Raw XXX is still a big 'ol network of paysites that has been around for years. These things are promoted all over the place and usually not as a network. Most niches have numerous sites and all have free tours that make tantalizing promises of amazing amounts of content. The ironic thing is that joining any one of these sites would be pretty much a waste. It's only when you take the network as a whole that Raw XXX has any value to it at all. Even then, it's clear the goal here it to placate members with purchased content of all kinds and hope you'll stick around to buy some live shows or other extra services. From the moment I got into the member's area I knew it wasn't designed for the surfer's benefit.
Some of the sites made me laugh simply because they had virtually no content relevant to their niche. For example India Uncovered has some average quality rehashed Indian galleries, but there are no Indian video feeds to be found. The 'featured video' on that site is a Hot & Nasty plug-in feed. The big dick site Circus Penis looks like it also has very little actual big cock stuff, but I really don't know since I got 403 Forbidden errors when I clicked on many of the sections. All right, many of the bigger niches like teen, asian, and ebony do offer relevant content, but even then it's nothing that hundreds of other paysites haven't already used.
After bumping around the network for a while I became even more thankful that they've added some reality sites. It's refreshing to be able to go to sites and actually see original videos that are hosted on the actual site. There are about 10 to 12 of these in the network depending on whether you want to count the few gay and tranny ones. The video quality is fine and you can stream them in-browser with Windows Media Player or QuickTime. Also the Windows Media files can be downloaded as clips or as entire episodes. There's some decent hardcore sex and some cheesy (and sometimes funny) effort given to reality themes in the sites like Naughty Therapy, Man Hunter, and Pimp 4 A Day. To sum up these reality sites are have way more entertaining content than the network's other sites, but they don't quite match the intensity found in other reality networks that deal exclusively in that genre.
Design and navigation are nothing special. The most frustrating thing is that much of their content is 3rd party which means you're constantly getting thrown over to outside URL's, each with their own interface and appearance. Raw XXX's price is what you'd expect from an old style network like this: a tempting $1.85 3-day trial recurs at $39.28/mo and the flat monthly rate is $29.99/mo if you forego the trial. To me this network is just too reliant on doing the same things that the big porn companies did to make big money back in the mid-90's. Obviously their impressive tours keep on selling, but in my book most of what's being offered really doesn't fly anymore. Maybe their move towards reality sites shows that they're sensing that too.

At the time of Raw XXX's initial review the network's new addition was its reality sites. Looking around the network again I see that those reality sites are still the centerpiece of what's here. Now there are 18 listed in the member's hub under the reality header although I saw a handful that only had basic feeds and galleries like the generic sites. The ones that do have more entertaining amateur style video episodes don't have dates listed so updates are hard to figure out. The overall style Raw XXX is still quite old school with non-exclusive galleries, 3rd party video feeds, ezines, games, jokes, etc. dominating the content. As the years go by and more and more exclusive and hi-res sites come on the scene the networks like this one seem that much more dated. I guess this setup is still successful for this company, if it wasn't I'm sure they'd make an overhauls.
