Today we're looking at a site you may never have heard of, though it should be familiar if you've been on the net for a while. Playboy Live VIP is a pretty typical cam site, and it looks like they're the new brand name of the older site called Flirt 4 Free you've no doubt seen in countless member's areas. You can get into chats as a guest (which is pretty typical) and pay about $2 a minute for voyeur/group chat, and about $6 a minute for private 1-on-1 chat time. They also have a $30 a month VIP membership that is pretty compelling; it gives you free voyeur chat (instead of $2 a minute), archives of the live shows, unlimited video downloads, and more.
The goods:
- Lots of girls online. It's not a huge site or anything, but neither is it one of those 10 girl cam sites. Enough girls are online that you should be able to find one or two that meet your needs, and if you're willing to compromise, there are lots of girls that are just okay as well.
- VIP Membership keeps things interesting. I like having something a little different to offer. You can get some free nude chat (though they're not very exciting at times) as well as some extra bonus content thrown in there. I'd say it's worth it if you don't mind the group chat thing.
- A few different cam options. You can make the cam picture a few different sizes, and they also give you two bitrate options. Some girls let you control their cams, but not many. Plus I like the voyeur option where you can watch someone else's private show (but not read or chat) to get you in there a little cheaper.
The bads:
- Navigation could be better. I wasn't even sure where to click at first to get a list of the girls, but you figure it out. Also, my first cam page had a list of the other girls available, but no pictures - what good does that do? The second (and the rest) had pictures up, which was much better.
- Quality is just average. Some girls dip below average too unfortunately, but at best you're just getting pretty typical video here. For the money, I would have loved to been offered some really nice video quality.
- Pretty expensive. $6 a minute is just a ton to spend to do anything online. You can get in to other cam sites, with more girls mind you, for about 1/3 of the price. Hell I've even seem some chicks charge 99 cents a minute. That's not the norm of course, but neither is this $6 a minute ripoff.
Conclusion:
Overall, not a bad site, but not without it's problems either. The high price stands out the most to me, as it's the one thing that would really keep me away from coming back much. The collection of girls is okay, but not terribly large either, so that could go either way too. Otherwise, the cam shows are generally fun if you find the right girl, and the options are probably just a little better than most. If you're rich and need something new, this could work, but I'm not sure if they offer enough to make it anyone's main cam site.
