Nylon Taboo is up for review today, so nylon fetish lovers should be happy here. Unfortunately they don't give you much of a tour to check out or show off what they have to offer. A quick peek inside shows some pretty professional-looking content, with pictures being the main focus here. The one big problem I see, which can be seen in the tour as well, is the lack of updates here. Right now, the latest updates were over a month ago; there's been nothing new added in 2009. Anyhow, membership is $25 a month, which is right about where I thought it'd be.
The goods:
- Exclusive niche content. If you've got some leg or other similar fetishes, they have some decent content here for you. The actual category list includes pantyhose, stockings, thigh highs, bodystockings, encassement (sic) (not sure what that is, and it's totally empty anyway - weird), and nylon sex.
- Quality is generally good. The pictures look very well-done overall, and they even come in two image sizes so the large one is pretty big. The videos have some fantastic specs, and look generally good, though there was a slight graininess I saw there for some reason.
The bads:
- No updates in a little while. They used to add stuff not quite weekly, but pretty close. However, there have been no updates in 2009 at all, and we're already halfway through February. I have to assume they're not longer updating at this point unfortunately.
- Not many videos overall. With over 100 photo galleries, it makes the nine videos not look like a very large section here. I'd definitely look for a lot more videos to be added if they do resume updating.
- Navigation could be better. This is a case of over categorization. I want a simple setup to view the pictures in one place, and the videos in another. If they want to break it down by year, that's fine. But when I have to hit seven different sections, each with three different years of tabs too, it's just too much. This would be much better setup in a search feature to find specific content types.
Conclusion:
Nylon Sex is a pretty simple site, so there's not a ton to complain, or rave, about. My main worry is the updates, which seem to have stopped. From there, the site could use an upgrade, both in design and in navigation. The content is good enough, but I'd love to see more videos overall. It's not a bad site, but it's not really a site that stood out to me as great either, and I'd say it's forgettable overall in its current state.
