Newbie Nudes is a community website where users can upload their own photos for others to see (and consequently can browse other people's photos too of course). I've never been a huge fan of having to pay a ton for these sites when there's similar stuff for free, but if they can provide enough features to make it worthwhile (and if you're a true fan of this stuff), I'm sure it can be worthwhile for you. Newbie Nudes charges $25 a month, which is definitely on the high side, so it'll be interesting to see what they offer.
The goods:
- There's a ton of content to see here. They've been online quite a while, and add thousands of pictures each and every day. You do the math! There's just a ton of content available here ready for you, as long as you don't mind browsing one picture at a time.
- Updates come often each day. As mentioned, thousands of new pics are put up each day, and they have a little countdown to the next update which is measured in seconds. If you want constant new material, it's here for you it seems.
- Pretty well categorized. I'm not sure if they rely on users to categorize their own content, or if they have a million monkeys (who are geniuses obviously) running things behind the scenes, but you can narrow down your search for content pretty well here compared to other similar sites.
- Better quality than expected. With some videos in the 640x480 range, and large pictures as well, it's a far cry from some of the older similar sites that offered nothing but awful content. It was true amateur stuff at its best at the time, but old-school $50 webcams or digital cameras just didn't produce great stuff. They obviously will have some quality issues here as there aren't too many pro photographers here, but overall it's better than expected.
- Lots of interactive features. Between the forum, chat, and blogs, there's a lot of ways to get in touch with others here. The blogs in particular impressed me with their sheer size and activity levels from so many different people.
The bads:
- A bit expensive for my tastes obviously! When you look at the $25 price tag alone, I expect quite a bit from a site that charges that as we have a lot listed that are in the $10-$15 a month range. Sites with user-submitted content can be found for $25 a year at times, so right off the bat I had a red flag up to make sure they were worth the price.
- Quality varies, can be worse than expected. Of course when you're not in full control of the content going online, there's going to be some that doesn't look so good. They're doing better than usual here I'd say, but you'll run into a few problems here and there.
- Navigation could always be better on this type of site. There's just so much material that it's hard to organize it all. Looking through pictures one at a time is a huge pain anyway, and it's too bad you can't easily find pics from the same set like on most sites.
Conclusion:
Overall, better than expected for sure. $25 is high, and you've got some inherent problems to deal with, but they do a good job with everything here. There's a ton to see, lots of new stuff up every single day, and the quality isn't too bad actually. If you're into this type of site, definitely head over to Newbie Nudes and see what's up.
