My Cams is a “premium video chat community” offering live streaming video of amateur babes broadcasting from their home to yours. At first glance, it looks much like all the other webcam sites we review. A closer look, however, reveals a number of features that set them apart.
The Goods –
Finally, a site with lots of models online! During my visit there were 1,435 models online (out of 51,440 models total). Too many camsites give users just 20 models to choose from. With over a thousand girls online here, you’re bound to find someone hot and available at all times.
Getting around the cleanly designed site is quite easy. You can browse the models alphabetically or by category or use the search feature. You can sort by who is online, who offers videos, and who is available for free video chat. Once you find a girl you like, it takes just one click to view her cam and two more clicks to go private. It’s a very user-friendly set-up.
The per minute price is reasonable compared to similar sites. A private live show costs $1.99 per minute, while a recorded show will cost you just 99 cents per minute. It seems like $3 is becoming the norm, with some camsites charging up to $6 per minute. My Cams definitely comes out ahead there.
The Bads –
Video quality was average overall. It varied somewhat based on the performer. Sometimes the picture was sharp and refreshed at a good rate (they claim at up to 30fps). Other times the image was grainy and refreshed so slow the action looked choppy. Though you might find some quality scenes, you’ll also see some low quality ones for an overall average experience.
Despite competitive pricing within the genre, My Cams is still an expensive join. Live cam sites like these end up costing much more than your standard paysite, where you can be entertained for an entire month for $20 on average. Here $20 will buy you just 10 minutes of entertainment.
Conclusion –
My Cams is a solid live cam site that can compete with the best of them. I was most impressed by the large number of models online and the low(ish) price. It’s pretty rare to find those on similar sites. I’d love to see more consistently high quality video, but I suppose that’s just a fact of life for sites like this. Overall, I liked what I saw and would recommend My Cams to anyone looking for live entertainment.
