Intro

Muscle Bear Cub is "powered by Lavender Lounge" which is another site from this same webmaster/company and members here get access to that site too. The theme here is bear cubs which are younger smaller bears with furry chests and facial hair according to the intro. The site is a combination of photo, video, blog, and community/dating content with the blog probably being the centerpiece.

The Pros

Gay Bear Photo, Video, Blog, & Community Content.

These are the main content items to be found at Muscle Bear Cub. The blog is the main focus of things with a couple years of archives, steady posting, and text/photos/videos included in the posts. The site's galleries and videos include some exclusive items as they are tagged as such. Action on these includes solo and hardcore and of course they do feature bear cub type guys which is their niche focus.

Two Company Bonus Sites Included with Membership.

Members here also get access to Lavender Lounge and Vintage Bareback. The content totals on the videos and galleries here are quite small so the extra content is a welcome addition.

Other Good Stuff:

The blog has a monthly archive breakdown as well as a niche tag cloud to locate specific types of postings.

The Cons

Not Very Much Content, Very Small Number of Videos.

The blog is the main focus of the content as it gets the most activity and has the search/browse features. The photo and videos are secondary and they really are a small collection and a mixed bag of stuff. Considering the site has been around for at least a couple of years they should have more content than is currently available.

Average Photo/Video Quality, Videos are Flash Streaming Only.

Video and photo options and quality aren't very impressive as the photo sets have no zip files and have images around 683x455. The videos are in-browser Flash without any download options. Basically things aren't download-friendly as content is geared just for online viewing.

Member Profiles Seem Like they Require a Separate Login.

The site isn't all that large but from what I can gather users are required to get a separate login/account for the member profiles/dating/community section. That's a little annoying and it seems to me that should be included with the main membership.

Minor Negatives:

Photo and video content doesn't have any update information provided. The blog updates regularly however the other content is random/sporadic.
There are lots of links to other sites which is a bit confusing as they seem to be a mix of the included bonus sites, other sites from this company or of interest to the webmaster, and then 3rd party sites and upsells.

The other

The montly membership price set-up is a bit unusual in that it's $10 for the first 30 days but then recurs at $24.95 after that.

Bottom Line

This gay site has a pretty active blog however the rest of the content isn't all that impressive.

To me it seems like Muscle Bear Cub needs a boost in terms of the photo and video content that accompanies the blog. Really the blog is the one content item of value as it stands now and the rest of the site is very thin. Probably the couple of bonus sites are the next best thing that comes with membership after the blog. Deepening the content collection and adding better download/viewing options would be ways to make things more user-friendly here.
