Manic Jane.com, not Maniac Jane, although a few of these girls might look a little crazy. This is an amateur site focusing on girls with an alternative style. "Manic Jane isn't about judgment or criticism. Certainly, it is somewhat about vanity. It is an oasis for anyone craving acceptance, an outlet for ideas, a place to share your pictures and stories and hopefully make new friends along the way..." This is a site that strives to create a community of people, no matter what their shape or site, style, color, or age, and bring them together. You can simply become a member and check out their growing number of images (1,500+), or you can become more than a member, a "Jane Doe", and submit your own content. The price of admission is fairly cheap, only $8 bucks per month ($20/3 months), however, the amount of content here is pretty minimal, so keep that in mind.
The site design is nice and professional yet simple and easy to use; the minimal amount of content might factor into that as well. Currently there are 34+ Jane's to choose from, most of which are girls. While the style here is somewhat eclectic, the overall feeling from them is one of alternative, piercing's, colored hair, short hair, funky in nature, etc., with a few Goths thrown in there as well. The quality of the content here was a little disappointing for me as well. Not that I was expecting full screen quality images or anything, but most sets fall within the 450x600 pixel range, which is quite small for such a new site, amateur in nature or not. Some of the sets offer a better quality picture than others as well but the size is kept quite constant. You will find lots of variety here though. Not just in the types of girls/boys, but in their pictures, environments, poses, etc., there is a whole lot of creativity going on here and although Manic Jane doesn't claim to be an "artistic" site, I would say most of the models here are artists in one form or another in their own personal lives and you will see that here. I really liked Aaralyn's "ironing" photoset, very 50's, very retro, and very clever. Overall the quality & image size is just not what we expect from porn sites these days and I can't imagine it would be too hard to get something done about that here, but for now this is what you can expect.
Simple and to the point here, Manic Jane is not trying to make a quick buck. What they are trying to do is create an online community of diverse & like-minded minds who can open up and share a piece of themselves with others, often times a very clever, artistic, and sensual side. The content here is all softcore and focuses on beautifying all sorts of shapes and sizes, looks and fashions that people come in these days. I'm sure the small $8 membership fee goes to time and money spent on the site itself and that this site was created more out of love for what they do and a passion for all things "alternative", a place where people can come and feel as though they belong. This is not your typical porn site; it's a small community of people sharing their bodies. The quality and image size is not up to par for what most would expect these days and so I can only imagine that it's not going to fare very well when it comes to scoring time. But I will say that this site is very nicely done, super cheap, and caters explicitly to those of you who crave a community of people, one where you can chat openly on the message boards (Manic Jane Bulletin Boards), submit your own pictures, or just look at others.
