Call me crazy, but Maniac Pass has a fucking hot chick right on their front page that gives me a stiffy for sure. They call themselves a network, but we categorize them more as an AVS- or AEN-type network. Their stats boast 352 total sites with almost 20,000 movies online right now. The usual issue with these sites for me is that the navigation and info isn't quite as nice as on a straight video site. This one costs $30 a month for access, which is a bit on the high side unfortunately.
The goods:
- Lots of DVD's up. It's kinda hard to count all the content since it's so broken up and stuff, but in their DVD Listing section alone there are several hundred DVD's available for viewing. I'm not sure if they're the same ones as in the sites, but it's a solid base to start with.
- Nice to browse through both sites or videos. I don't particularly enjoy browsing through AVS-type sites since there's no real easy way to find exactly what you want. It's good to have the DVD Listing here to browse through as well.
The bads:
- Navigation could be better. It's not really their fault necessarily, it's more my issue with these AVS/AEN type sites in general. The site titles don't provide much knowledge on what's inside except for a very generic category at most. It just makes for a lot of clicking around and hoping to get lucky.
- Video quality could be better at times. They vary from one video to the next which surprised me, but when you run into any 320x240 videos, they just never cut it. Others are a little larger and look better, but to compete today you need videos that look good all the time.
- Not sure how often they update. There are no dates on anything in here, from sites to videos, etc. I have no idea if the sites are dead, updating daily, or something in between.
- A bit expensive. $30 is on the high side these days for sure, especially to have what I consider as a subpar experience. Other video sites out there are offering more for just $10-$20 a month at times.
Conclusion:
So it's not that I don't like Maniac Pass itself, I'm just not a huge fan of the business model they've setup here. It adds more confusion, fewer options, less info, etc. The higher price and lagging quality don't help much either. It's an okay join I guess if not compared to anything else, but with better video sites out there for less money, it's hard to recommend this one.

Not much seems to be new around here except more content, which is I guess what matters most in the end. They did add an update log which shows a nice (almost daily) update schedule. Otherwise, much remains the same as our last visit. I still appreciate that you can browse the site just like a paysite, since the AVS route doesn't quite do it for me. The navigation could still be beefed up a little, as could some of the video categories. So it's still not awesome, but not a disappointment either.
Score increased from 76.5 to 79.5.

The name of the game here is more content now, which is expected I guess. There are more sites and more content included all around. Navigation was beefed up a bit, but mostly on the paysite side of the site. I'm still not quite sure why they have both the AVS style and the paysite style all under one roof with the same content, but whatever works for them I guess. The paysite is getting easier to get around, which is how I prefer to browse the site. Overall, it's good, but there's still nothing here that really wow's me.
Score increased from 79.5 to 80.0.
