We all know the Lightspeed brand of course, but I had never really checked out Lightspeed TV before. It's an all-video site, comprised of videos from their solo girl sites. I'd say they're best known for their pictures (originally at least), but with the cute girls they have, some people may only want to see the videos. If you've been a member of any of their other sites, this will feel familiar to you as it's setup nearly identical. The price is also still $40 a month, which is always a tough pill to swallow.
The goods:
- Lots of exclusive videos. By my count they have 660 videos up currently, which is pretty good considering they're all exclusive and everything. New material comes up quite often as well, so the site should continue to grow nicely.
- A few different video options. They offer videos in WMV, MPG, Quicktime, iPod, and cell phone formats for your viewing pleasure. The quality varies with each one unfortunately, and the only ones that really appealed to me were the full-length WMV and Quicktime versions for quality reasons.
- Updates come often. Lately they've been daily, or even twice a day, but that's not always the case. I think at worst, you shouldn't wait more than a day or two for another update, which is definitely a good thing.
The bads:
- Quality could use a slight bump. Even their best-looking videos are a touch behind some of the other sites out there these days. When you're talking about their worst offenders (the WMV clips were not good for me at all), I'd definitely love to see even more improvement there.
- Plain member's area with too many ads. The member's area is just way too simple, from design to navigation. Add in lots of ads, from a FPA when entering to the tons of text links and icons on the main member's page, it's just not pretty when you're inside.
- Expensive. $40 a month is about the highest you'll see charged on a normal basis, so they rank as one of the more expensive options out there.
- Navigation could be improved as they grow. Right now they just offer a huge list of their videos in chronological order, and you can also browse by model. They do categorize them as seen on the video pages, but there's no way to browse by those categories. A search feature would help a ton here, especially as the collection grows even larger.
Conclusion:
Overall I'd say that Lightspeed TV provided exactly what I was expecting. The size of the collection was better than expected though, as was the update schedule. The videos are typical Lightspeed stuff and are fun, but could use a bump in quality for sure. The site is very plain still all around, and those ads just bother me a bit for how much you've already spent. Otherwise, you do get a good collection for your membership, and it could be a good join if you're just wanting the videos. However, I was under the impression that $40 got you into the whole Lightspeed network anyway where you could see all the girls pictures and videos for the same money, so I'm not real sure what the benefit is to Lightspeed TV unless they have even more content available here.
