Why is it I feel like we've reviewed this site before already? Maybe it's because the Kara's group of sites have been around for some time and we did previously review some of their sites. But KarasAdultPlayground.com is all new in a way, at least as new as a site celebrating its 10th anniversary online can be. And although Kara's still features non-exclusive content, there will always be massive amounts of it, with more than 702,000+ images and 1,215+ full-length DVD's to check out, but now in higher quality formats and an easier to browse site design. A membership here is still an outrageous $40 bucks a month, but then again, I don't think we've ever seen a site with so much content.
The Good:
- The archive of content huge! And with 1 DVD and 3 new photosets being added daily, you'll never be at a loss for new material. So it goes without saying that the variety of content is also incredible. You'll find DVD's from some of the most well known companies, like: Adam & Eve, Devils Films, Zero Tolerance, Red Light District, and many more. All of your favorite pornstars are here, too. Whether it's brunettes or blondes, interracial, MILFs, teens, DP, anal, or lesbians you're looking for, it's all here and then some.
- The site design is pretty smooth and offers some nice options including content categories, search features, and the ability to browse by company, pornstar, category, add favorites and more. It would be nice to be able to search by multiple features, however.
- For the most part the quality is pretty good here, too. Images and nice and large and the videos stream as high as 700k-900k. There's clearly some room for improvement with the videos, though.
The Bad:
- All non-exclusive content from some of your biggest content providers means you very well might have seen a lot of this stuff around the Internet before.
- Videos are stream (in-browser) only and there are no options for download. The images also cannot be downloaded. So basically, if you want to look at the content here, you must remain a member. For such a high price tag this doesn't seem like such a great deal. It's almost un-heard of for sites these days not to offer downloads, let alone multiple download options. When it comes to user-features, Kara's just doesn't cut it.
- Videos are only average in quality overall. If you're going to make them stream only, at least offer some nicer quality options. I'd like to see streams 1000k and up.
The Conclusion:
For almost $40 bucks a month, I'd expect more from a site - user options and downloadable content at the very least. Sure, they have the numbers but streaming only videos at lack-luster quality is a big disappointment for a site with so many great DVD titles. And that's another point to be made, while they have some of you biggest names in the business, so do a lot of your other sites out there. If they could offer Studios rarely found on other sites like Vivid, Evil Angel, Wicked, etc. then my tune might change a bit. Lastly I should point out that the tour only gives you the option for a "free membership", but while that gives access to the members area, it doesn't allow you to view any of the actual content, so be warned, a membership here will cost you about $40 bucks a month. Now, if you're one for lots and lots of content, all to view and don't care for any type of download option, well there's not a site larger than this that I know of. Kara's just missed a few big points that I look for in a user-friendly site.
