Intro

Joybear Pictures is a UK-based video production studio that creates hot porn for couples. Today we're looking at their pay-per-view site that features their original DVD collection. Joybear has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Esquire, The Times, and even on CNN, and has won numerous awards for its sexy DVD series. It's a site that men, women, and couples can enjoy individually or together.


The Pros

  Sexy original collection.

I really enjoyed the collection of movies on Joybear. The scenes are sexy, hardcore, and interesting. You'll see some storylines and attention to detail that you don't always see in typical porn. I loved that the action was still raunchy and hardcore while still put together in a way that women will enjoy.

  Good quality videos.

The movies are sharp wmvs. They're average in size but look good overall. These are professional scenes and that's apparent in everything about them.

Other Good Stuff:

  • They've got a decent size collection of scenes. They currently offer 11 original DVDs (totaling around 66 scenes) and an additional 26 DVDs from other studios.
  • The site design is clean and attractive.

The Cons

  Expensive PPV set-up.

While some may find it convenient to just pay as you go, if you're hoping to grab all of the content here it'll end up costing quite a lot. It costs around $5 (US) to stream each scene and $7 (US) to download each scene (they list prices in GBP but I converted for simplicity). If you buy your tickets in bulk, it saves some, but you're still ending up paying a lot for these scenes and it will cost you thousands of dollars if you want to see it all.

  Not enough browse tools.

You can view the scenes or view the movies and sort by studio but that's it. There's no model list, no category list, nothing other than a simple keyword search to help you find what you're looking for.

  Some viewing restrictions.

Though you have the option to stream or download the video scenes, there are still some limits in place. If you stream it (which costs less than downloading), you can only watch it once. Then you have to pay to stream it again. Also, when the video plays in browser you can't jump forward in the scene or enlarge it at all. These are little things that could make for a more user-friendly experience if resolved.

Minor Negatives:

  • These are all non-exclusive scenes. While many of them are original Joybear scenes, they can also be found on DVDs.
  • None of the scenes are dated and there's no update log. I can't say when or even if the site is being updated.

Bottom Line

A sexy collection of scenes on a basic site with an expensive PPV price.

Joybear was a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I really enjoyed the scenes and think that the site has some potential. On the other, it's very basic set-up with a high pricetag. Quality was good but I'd still like to see larger movies at this price. On the bright side, with the PPV structure, you and your woman can log on and sample a scene or two at minimal cost. However, if you end up enjoying the scenes as much as I did, you may find yourself shelling out far too much here before long.
