Intro

JAV Model is a Japanese hardcore DVD download site. The JAV stands for Japanese Adult Video and they do focus more on presenting the content by model rather than by movie title. Still it is essentially a downloadable movie collection with all sorts of hardcore. There is definitely a big difference between American Asian porn and the authentic Japanese movies and JAV is all about only Japanese titles. The site has been around for more than a decade and has a large archive of thousands of full movies.

The Pros

Japanese Movies, All Sorts of Hardcore & Niche Action.

JAV Model has a fun collection of hardcore Japanese movies that include all sorts of action from standard girl/guy banging to groups, fetishes, toys, uniforms, and all other types of action. You have a wide range of Japanese pornstars in the mix from current to retired girls. It's a wide-ranging and very much an inclusive collection of hardcore Japanese porn that focuses on offering only video content.

Big Archive, 1000's of Movies, Continues to Update.

As with a lot of movie download sites the value comes from having a big archive of titles even though it is non-exclusive content. That's the case at JAV as they have been around since the early 2000's and have movies dating back to that time. Updates continue to roll out with a log of those on the member's home page. At the time of this review the total number of movies tops four thousand.

Dedicated Section for 'Uncensored' Movies.

When dealing with Japanese movies you always have to expect blurring/censoring on the hardcore. It is quite common for this genre. JAV has a mixed bag but I really like that one of their niche browsing sections is for 'Uncensored Videos'. If the censoring really bugs you it's possible to check out just the movies without any of that. This is a little navigation item that makes a significant different on a Japanese porn site like this.

Other Good Stuff:

Movies can be downloaded in full-movie WMV files along with portable MP4 on the newer additions as a secondary option. Flash or Silverlight is offered for in-browser streaming. These options do cover the basics and are largely consistent throughout the collection.
All movies are clearly date-stamped with update information and they also have useful data like video files sizes and running time length.
There is an alphabetical model index plus niche section browsing for different types of girls/action.

The Cons

Limited Download Options, Quality Varies, Some Large Files.

When it comes to downloading videos are in WMV format only except for the more recent ones which throw in the portable MP4 option. No quality level options on the WMV are available and they vary depending on the age of the movie. These full-movie files can be really large at around 1.5-2.5GB with no smaller clip option.

Non-Exclusive Content, Some Hardcore Blurring/Censoring.

As with most movie/DVD download sites of this kind you are dealing with non-exclusive content. While they do have a dedicated section for the uncensored movies there are a lot of films here that do have the blurring which goes with the territory on Japanese porn.

Minor Negatives:

The in-browser Streaming is a mixed bag of Flash and Slverlight depending on the movie. Both worked fine for me but I think some users might not have Silverlight so I wish they stuck with Flash throughout.
With so many movies they could use some additional browse tools like some sort of advanced search/filter tool.

JAV has been around for years and it has a lot of downloadable Japanese hardcore movies.

JAV Model is a good destination for users looking for a lot of Japanese hardcore movies to download. This is a wide-ranging collection that does nicely in terms of sheer volume of movies and stars. I particularly like that they have a dedicated section for just the uncensored movies. The downloading covers the basics but the quality does vary and there's room for additional options and higher quality movies.
