Intro

Interracial Gay Dating is up for review today, and this is a pretty simple dating site that just happens to focus on gay guys looking for someone of another ethnicity to hook up with. Once inside, all the standard features are there, but the clientele is obviously looking for something a little different from the norm. $30 a month gets you in the door here, and they don't seem to have any separate levels or types of memberships to choose from.

The Pros

Pretty unique dating site theme.

The theme for the site is one of the few things that sets this one apart from the crowd. Not only is the site setup for gay people looking for dates, but they take it a step further to focus on guys that are looking for an interracial relationship. Honestly, the theme here is about the only reason to join this one.

Search can get pretty specific.

I was about to write about how the search was way too simple, until I saw the advanced search options, that is. Once you open that thing up, there's a whole new world to check out. Find an interracial gay partner who wants kids, for instance, or who doesn't want kids, for that matter. There are a ton of things to search by, as long as the people in your area have filled out their profiles completely (which wasn't the case in my area, unfortunately).

The Cons

So many small/empty profiles.

All I can really do on a site like this is pretend I'm looking for a date, and do a search as I would as a normal user. Unfortunately, the results weren't that good here. On the first page of results, there was only one profile that even had a photo up, let alone all the extra features you can do. They need to get some more active people on here to get people using the site more.

Not much in the way of extras.

A lot of the bigger dating sites out there offer some kind of community features to help keep you busy while waiting to find your soul mate. There's none of that here. I was looking for some kind of message board, or chat room, or cam shows, or even some links to third party content, or something. There's just nothing extra or bonus here.

Bottom Line

It's nice for a niche dating site, but the actual options and site features are way too basic.

Interracial Gay Dating ended up being just way too basic of a dating site for my liking. The only thing that sets them apart are the people that join and what they're looking for, but once inside, there's just nothing that exciting in my opinion. The ads seem way too empty, with very few of the local guys (to me) offering even a single photo. The search isn't bad, but again, that requires profiles that are relatively filled out, which these aren't. There are no real community features to speak of, either. I guess you could join for a one-off to see if you find a date or something, but as a site, it's just not that good overall.
