Intro

Hot Older Male is a gay niche site that zeros in on older mature guys. Right off that's a nice specialty that definitely helps separate them from many other gay sites. The content includes both solo guy and hardcore action with a mixture of videos and photo galleries. Along with mature guys there are some younger 'Admirer' men in the mix which brings the older/younger genre into play as well. The way things are set up on the guest tour gives visitors a chance to browse the site much like members can so you can easily get a feel for what is offered in terms of models and scenes.

The Pros

Exclusive Mature Guy Content, Mix of Hardcore & Solo Guy Shoots.

Hot Older Male does a nice job in providing a collection of gay content that totally revolves around older mature guys. There are all different types of models with sub-categories that include bear, suit, muscle, leather, over 55, and admirer. The admirers are younger guys which helps to incorporate old/young action into the content. The content includes a lot of hardcore one-on-one and groupsex along with solo guy posing, stripping, and masturbation. Basically it has most every type of action covered under the older man genre.

Nice Sized Collection of Both Pics & Vids, Well Established Site.

Hot Older Male has been around for quite a number of years and they have a pretty balanced collection when it comes to the amounts of picture galleries and videos. There is actually more videos than pictures which most surfers should enjoy. There are dedicated sections for both the videos and galleries or you can access all the content through the model index page titled 'The Men'.

Other Good Stuff:

Newer picture galleries have high/low picture quality levels with the high having specs of 1200x800. Newer Flash videos are high quality and load/buffer quickly.
Galleries/videos are date-stamped with update information showing when they were added to the site.
The design is sharp/professional with some helpful browse and filter tools that include a model list and niche categories.

The Cons

Videos are Streaming Only w/ No Downloads, No Gallery Zips Either.

TBP has done a review on Hot Older Male in the past and I believe they used to have some video downloads. Now Flash in-browser streaming is the only option with no downloadable formats available. Also, the picture galleries don't have zip files. By not having the downloads it seems they're trying to sell more DVDs of the movies since they always have ads for them on the videos streaming pages. That's okay for them but surfers who are looking for memberships for downloading videos will want to take note of the streaming only setup here.

Older Pictures & Videos Have Lower Quality/Specs.

Actually the majority of videos and picture galleries fall into the category of having the lower quality level. For the videos this simply means lower specs on the Flash streaming. For the picture galleries the images are only available in the lower quality level with no high-level options. The oldest sets have images that come in around 700x600 which are quite small.

Minor Negatives:

The update pace is pretty slow for both the photo galleries & videos. They average around 1 new gallery or video scene per week.
There are some upsells in the member's area including things like DVDs sales, movie PPV, and other paysites.

Bottom Line

A quality collection of older guy content however the lack of downloads hurts.

Hot Older Male does really well in terms of the kind of content offered. This is an entertaining collection that covers all sorts of action related to mature guys with nice amounts of both hardcore and solo action. Content formatting is the most significant negative that will trouble most surfers. Sites without movie downloads are quite rare nowadays and most paysites are moving in the other direction with more format options at higher resolutions. So overall they have excellent content but it isn't offered in the formats that most surfers would want to see.
