Hot Movies for Her's title is self explanatory. This is a pay-per-view DVD movie site geared at the ladies. This is from the Movie Dollars company whose flagship site is HotMovies.com. That's one of the largest and most well established VOD sites and Hot Movies for Her is a sub-site of that collection.
The Goods:
- Huge Selection of DVDs. When it comes to offering a large collection of movies this company is near the top of the list. The sheer amount of DVD titles, studio, stars, and niches is mind boggling. The total number of movies is in the many thousands representing all sorts of porn.
- Useful Browse/Search Tools. While the site design isn't overly polished the necessary navigation features are in place. These include a keyword search, advance search, browse by studio, star, director, popularity, etc. Things like a favorite’s page and account management are also easy to use.
- Movie Descriptions & Ratings. The individual movies pages list stars and studio with hyperlinks to quickly jump to other associated titles. The other information posted includes a written description of the film, scene index, running time, and last watched day/time for vids you've watched thru your account. A five star ratings system is also in place with the number of user votes posted along side the score.
The Bads:
- Only Slightly Geared for Women. The "for women" aspect is only given lip service in my opinion. They have a front page with some sex tips, featured movies, and "Between Takes" articles. Once you get into the videos though it's a standard collection of porn DVDs.
- PPV Pricing Gets Expensive. Generally speaking the trade-off on PPV sites is the huge movie library in return for paying a pay-per-minute price. The fact is even for those who watch an average number of movies can end up spending more money than what it costs for monthly memberships on competing sites.
- Average/Varying Video Quality. The video quality is average and the options vary slightly on the movies. Some don't have the highest WMV format available which renders the top quality level on those even grainier. Basically it's unlikely that surfers would be bowled over by the vid quality.
Conclusion:
Hot Movies for Her is a site where what you see is what you get. As a guest it's easy to browse the collection of movies as well as the "for her" articles, etc. on the main page. The per-minute price packages are also clearly posted and easy to understand. Overall the main thing you're paying for here is the huge movie collection that they have available.
