Intro

With a title like Hot and Mean I wasn't really expecting a Lesbian niche site but that's exactly what this site is. It's part of the Brazzer's network and in fact Hot and Mean is a newer site from this company with episodes that date back just to the summer of 2009. With that being the case it makes sense for surfers to check out the rest of Brazzers because that's a big part of membership here.

The Pros

Exclusive Glamour Style Lesbian Episodes, Sexy Models.

All the shoots have hardcore girl/girl action featuring sexy pro looking babes who know how to perform for the camera. Guests can get a taste of this on the guest tour and those samples are representative of the member's area content. The action includes all sorts of lesbian hardcore with toys mixed in as well.

Nice Quality Videos, Full-Movie Files & Clips.

Downloading options include full-episode files in WMV, MPEG, MP4, and iPod/PSP formats. In addition there are clip segments for each of the formats as well including both large clips and short 1-minute parts. Each clip segment has a thumbnail picture which helps for previewing the scene.

High Quality & Quick Buffering Flash Streaming.

It's rare when video streaming gets listed as a major plus in my reviews. However the Flash here buffers quickly, allows you to jump ahead immediately, and has high-res quality options. I found myself using these regularly to check out the content and this is a user-friendly set-up.

Access to Brazzers Network Included.

This is a big part of membership here. Hot and Mean's navigation system is very much network based with a header and left margin navigation tools that quick link to the rest of the network content. The other sites features exclusive video episodes in various niches just like Hot and Mean.

Other Good Stuff:

Galleries and videos are date-stamped with update information showing when they were added to the site.
Clear file size information is posted for each movie file and clip segment.
Members can post feedback and comments on the episode pages plus rate the scenes on a 10-point scale.
Pictures and screen captures are available for most episodes.
The overall site and network design is sharp and professional looking.

The Cons

Not Many Episodes, Very Small Collection of Content.

Hot and Mean is a very young site by internet porn standards with a launch date in the summer of 2009. The oldest episodes on the update list have a date-added of August '09. Basically these guys haven't had much time to build up any kind of a database of content so there isn't much here when it comes to overall quantity.

Inconsistent Updates with Noticable Gaps.

This is unsettling especially for a new site. The pattern appears to be that they were good at putting new episodes online for the first few weeks and then missed a few weeks followed by a couple more additions. In the couple weeks leading up to this review there hasn't been any new content added. There certainly has not been a set update schedule established.

HD Quality Streams Available Only on Some Episodes.

The HD videos have a couple of issues. First, the high-res Flash streams are available on about half the shoots with the others having average quality streams. Also, a level of membership called "Elite" is established when you stay a member for 6 uninterrupted months. That is needed to qualify for downloading all of Brazzers HD movies. So overall the HD formatting is hit-and-miss with some restrictions.

Minor Negatives:

There are some upsells in the member's area like live cams, a PPV theater, and personals.
The trial membership provides limited access and there are join page cross-sells.
Download speed was average through Internet Explorer browser.
This polished and studio style content may not appeal to surfers who like more amateur style porn.

Bottom Line

A small collection of lesbian video episodes with sexy pro models and access to the Brazzers network.

Hot and Mean fits well within the larger Brazzers network. The original episodes have nice downloading options and an impressive Flash streaming system. The main thing that hurts the site is simply the lack of content. Since the site is new on the scene the quantity is something we'll have to check on again later after the site has been around for a longer period of time.
