Intro

High Octane is a hardcore gay site from the crew over at AEBN. This company is best known for its massive VOD DVD site however they do have other more specific niche sites with monthly memberships like this site. High Octane actually is part of a package of sites, a sort of quasi-network, without one central hub page however members here do get access to five gay sites all of which have video and photo collections. Here the theme is hardcore guy/guy and threesome/groupsex action along with some solo that is mostly in the photos. Guests can get a pretty good feel for the scope of the content and men from the guest tour.

The Pros

Gay Hardcore & Solo Photos/Videos, Studio Style Content.

High Octane has a mix of video and photo content with the videos loaded with guy/guy and threesome/group action. The guys are fit, trim, and muscular as this is studio style content for the most part. An occasional solo guy scene can be found in the videos but really the movies are all about hardcore. Photos include both a section for action pics and solo pic so that part of the site is more balanced between hard and softcore.

Access to Additional Company Bonus Sites Included.

While there isn't a dedicated network hub page with its own title High Octane is part of a virtual network in that members get access to Sex Gaymes, Hard Friction, Rear Stable, and Hot Hot Barebacking with membership so including that the quantity is quite solid. All the extra sites are linked to from the High Octane header and all you need to do is enter your login again when visiting each one for the first time.

Other Good Stuff:

Site design is straightforward with categories for videos, DVDs, solo photos, action photos, and a model index. They date-stamp all content items with update info and add new items weekly.
Streaming Flash loads within a few seconds and allows for immediate jumping ahead. The WMV files, although DRM protected are full-scene downloads.

The Cons

Nowadays we're seeing more sites expand video options and improve quality. High Octane strays from that and has just WMV format for downloading with average to low quality/specs depending on the age of the video. The files are also DRM protected meaning you need an active login to view the movies even after downloaded. This does impact the value and the included company bonus sites also have these same options.

Average Quality/Sized Pictures, No Zip Files Available.

As with the videos the pictures don't have the best download options available as there aren't any zip files. Photos come in at around 950x650 on the newer sets and others are more like 720x480. The quality/sharpness is only okay as the content seems to be a mix of newer content and stuff from years back.

Minor Negatives:

Little information is provided on the content as they don't have DVD info like studio or production year on the listings. Similarly there isn't biographical info on the men.
No file size, running time, or length info is provided for the WMV files.

The other

Many videos have background music.

Bottom Line

This gay site has a lot of hardcore & threesomes along with some solo content but the download choices are a weakness.

High Octane does have content that matches up with the title in that they have a ton of threesomes and hardcore banging in the videos/DVDs. The main negative though that stands out has to be the download options with the DRM protected WMV files. This is sort of a carryover from the company main VOD site where it's streaming only. Here they give some download but the options are more restrictive than we'd like to see.
