Intro

HDK Central is a network of three sites brought to you by the Hot Desert Nights DVD production studio. HDK has been the leading bareback DVD studio for over 10 years and now members can enjoy their collection of videos and photos right here on this network. The overarching theme is bareback gay sex, but the individual sites also explore fisting, solo masturbation, and sex, as well as what it is like to make a gay porn.

The Pros

Original hardcore gay collection.

This is an all original collection of scenes by Hot Desert Nights. You may recognize the action from their DVDs, but everything on the site was produced by their crew with their models. The men are generally pretty studly, with a good range of ages. They're not afraid to get kinky, especially on their anal fisting site! You'll see plenty of fucking, blowjobs, and really raw, hardcore action.

Good-size network.

Although there are only three sites included, totaled together members can enjoy more than 1,250 galleries and 808 videos. Each site offers plenty for members to enjoy and together they create an impressive collection!

New videos are high definition.

In July of 2012, they began adding a high definition option for their videos. These wmvs play at 6000k and are 1280 x 720 in size. I loved these new larger, sharper scenes! There are currently only 20 of them online, but hopefully that number will continue to grow.

Other Good Stuff:

Each scene can be downloaded in Windows Media and as an mp4, and they can be streamed in your browser using Flash.
Photos can be viewed in a slideshow and downloaded in a zip file.
Scenes info includes length descriptions, file sizes, and run times.

The Cons

Infrequent updates.

I was surprised to find that no new scenes had been added to the network in weeks. That's really rare on a collection like this. Part of the issue is that some of the sites are no longer being updated. While they will have sporadic bursts of daily updates from time to time, it's not something you can really count on.

Average quality content.

With the exception of the more recently added high definition videos, the videos on HDK Central look ok, but are nothing remarkable. The wmvs play at 1600k and are 640 x 480 in size. They're not bad, and you can certainly enjoy the scenes at these specs, but they're not nearly as sharp as the HD movies.

Minor Negatives:

No model info is provided. You get each guy's name, but that's about it.
There are quite a few ads in the member's area. The pages can be quite cluttered.

Bottom Line

There's a lot of great bareback action but they need to add a whole lot more HD soon.

HDK Central was a mixed bag for me. I was very impressed with the size of the network and I loved the new high definition videos. However, the lack of updates is concerning and it's truly a very small portion of the videos that actually look above average. Membership is $25 a month, which is what I'd expect to pay for this collection. Overall, it's worth a look and hopefully they pick up the update pace and add even more HD so I can give that recommendation with a bit more enthusiasm.
