Ron Harris is the most acclaimed erotic photographer in the world. Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy Magazine called Ron "The King of Erotica" and Playboy Magazine called Ron "The Granddaddy of Soft-core". Ron has over 25,000 published photographs and over 500 Art Director Awards for excellence in photography.
You might remember that we've previously reviewed a site from Ron Harris called Ron Harris Studio back in September of 2003 (my score = 82) and then later did a follow-up of that site in June of this year (2005, score went up to 87). Well now, just about 2 months later and Harris has got a whole new design, look and feel going on with a new site, Harris-Archives.com. While you can expect super hi-res quality images from both sites, this site relishes in being the "softer" of the two (though neither offer men). What's great though, is that along with your $29.91 monthly membership here, you'll also get access to Ron Harris Studio, from which reviewing, you know that Ron Harris is a photography legend. He's made his way throughout the fashion world before breaking into the adult world, taking highly impressive photographs which have been plastered all over fashion magazines and playboy television. He is a producer and director, and above all things, your host here at Harris-Archives.com.
Since the two sites are sold together, the member's area here at Harris-Archives was designed to enable you to be able to access both sites from a link-based member’s area, which can be confusing to get the hang of. Oddly enough this was done on purpose. Reason being? That's how Ron likes it. In certain areas (which he goes into great detail describing why things are set-up the way they are), I agree. But I think it would make browsing his content 10x easier if he would also offer a model index and/or categorical breakdowns for the content, or even a search feature. As it stands now, all updates are listed by month from January 2004 on. Like his other site, the updates are listed in magazine cover style format and each is offered in 3 great quality file sizes: 800x600, 1200x800, and a whopping 2000x1333. The latter size is also offered as a zip file. I would also love to see the 1200x800 pictures offered as a zip file, hell, even the 800x600 would be nice as well. I could go on and on about how beautifully photographed many of these galleries are; how they take innovative ideas, beautiful women and unique settings, put them all together and really make the images pop. There are many beautiful close-ups here and even some fetish content (smoking), as well as toys, girl-girl, fruits & veggies and more. Unfortunately it looks as though updates have trickled off here in the last few months so hopefully this is just a little summer break for Mr. Harris?
While this is mostly a video site, there are a few high quality videos here (5+). They feature softcore content and the same beautiful women. The newest 3 videos are offered in 2 sizes: either 500k & 1000k or 1000k & 3000k so these are some very good quality videos. One video has Ron instructing a girl "how to photograph beautiful girls" in the background (sound only), while another girl in see-through bra and panties sits and watches, teasing herself with a glass toy. There is actually another couple of ones like this as well. Same premise mostly, with one of the girls lying on a bed touching herself. Overall this is an exclusive, very high quality, softcore content site. The images (mostly), will take your breath away some of them are so beautiful. What lacks, though, is the navigation here. While it certainly isn't the worst we've seen, there's just so much more they could do to make things easier when it comes to browsing the archives. And really, 5+ videos is not a lot. However, since you also get access to Ron Harris Studio with your membership here, I'd say that the $30 bucks per month is fairly reasonable.

It's been over a year and it looks as though Ron Harris's updates have continued to slow, as his site has only seen the addition of about 3 months worth of updates in that time. There have been no videos added in that time either and you also no longer get free access into his sister site, Ron Harris Studio. The only good news to report is that there's an even large viewing option up for the images, making them as large as 3000x2000 pixels - simply amazing - but overall I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with my visit here this time around. I certainly hope Ron gets back on track with updates, or at least gives members a major break in price.
