We get quite a few requests for a porn site that features classic porn films, and I think that's just what we have up for review today. It's called Golden Hardcore, and they feature porn scenes from the 70's and 80's, when porn was different (and arguably better) than it is now. Sites like this can be a little tough, as a lot of people have a favorite movie or two they're looking for. With only 70 or so scenes up currently here at Golden Hardcore, it's unlikely you'll find anything too specific, but at least you can get back into the genre. A whopping $35 a month will get you inside, which is pretty high considering they don't offer a ton of content yet.
The goods:
- Unique content. As I mentioned, there are a lot of people out there looking for this type of stuff. Granted it's pretty vanilla porn compared to what the internet can provide these days, but the old-school aspect is tough to compete with.
- Quality is decent, considering. These movies are decades old, and many of them are only on VHS I'm sure (which degrades over time). They do the best they can, and the videos look good enough for me.
- Updates come regularly. The only list the last couple updates, but it seems that there are 1-2 new scenes posted weekly. They really need to get some growth here, so all the updates they can offer, the better.
The bads:
- Not a huge site. With only 70 scenes, it's not small, but it's not large. The niche they're in almost requires them to have a ton of content so people can find what they're looking for, but they're definitely not there yet.
- Navigation will need improvement. As the site continues to grow, I think they're going to need more ways to find the content here. The simple list in chronological order works okay, but especially considering the type of site they have here, I think they need more options.
- Expensive. $35 a month is just a lot to spend on a porn site, let alone one that's a little bit on the small side.
- Only WMV videos offered. They have three quality options, but all three of them are in WMV form. I wouldn't mind seeing another video type here to spread things out, and to help anyone who can't do WMV very well.
Conclusion:
Honestly, I was hoping for a bit more out of Golden Hardcore. The classic porn niche really requires that you offer a lot more content in my opinion. The high price, and average quantity and updates here just don't mix well together. Hopefully they can get there in time, but for now it just wasn't quite all I was looking for.
