After seeing the title "Golden Hardcore" on my to-be-reviewed list I guessed that it would be a mature niche site but I was wrong. This is a vintage porn site with classic porn scenes from the golden age of porn movies in the 70's and 80's. It's not very often that classic porn sites show up on our list so they're different which is good for me.
The Goods:
- Fun Classic Porn Video Content. When it comes to performer names and movies I'm not really an encyclopedia of porn but I find it fun to watch old school videos. No doubt there is a fan base out there. This collection has hardcore action including girl/guy, lesbian, and groupsex. Names that I see include Vanessa del Rio, Houston, Kimberly Kupps, Nina Hartley, Ashley Moore, and others. The videos are scenes and not full movies so be aware of that when looking at the listings site facts on TBP.
- Nice Video Quality, Three Levels. The video quality specs are solid and we have to take into account that this is classic porn shoots from decades ago. The quality of the original shoots aren't going to be up to par with current day porn. So the vid specs are solid and there are High, Med, and Low levels for each movie.
- Network w/ Interesting Sites. The network included with membership is a mixed bag including some very original concepts and more generic non-exclusive content sites. We've reviewed a number of the original sites which include Ass Smoothie (crazy theme there) and a few hot solo girl sites. Actually, when login in to Golden Hardcore's member's area you are sent to the network hub and from there it's possible to jump to the individual site pages.
The Bads:
- Movie/Star/Year Info Not Provided. This is the very first thing that jumped out at me as I scrolled through Golden Hardcore's member's area. Each vid scene has a written description which may or may not include performer names. Beyond that the only info listed are niches like vaginal, blowjob, girl/girl, etc. They don't provide movie titles, performer specifics, years, or any other fun facts that would give the scene more context. It seems to me classic content should have stuff like that listed.
- Basic Navigation, No Sorting Features. The navigation is not fancy with the videos listed simply chronologically. As mentioned in my first bullet point they list niche action for each movie but those aren't hyperlinked. There isn't any way to sort by time period, type of action, or anything. The only tool is a top rated list of five popular scenes on the member's home page.
- Little Update Info, High Monthly Price. The update info show includes the last three additions. Beyond that the other movies/galleries don't have date info posted. The only other update info is that which is found on the network hub which has an updates list for all the sites together. The $34.95/mo price here is about five bucks higher than the majority of networks out there.
Conclusion:
Golden Hardcore's guest tour has a number of samples including video trailers that'll give you a cross section of the movies included here. This isn't a huge database of classic porn movies but it does have a decent number of videos with solid video quality. Because of the high price the included network is a key component.
