VideoBox has been our top-scoring video site for some time now so it was with a lot of excitement that I began my review of their new site appropriately named Gay VideoBox. They've taken all the basics that we love about VideoBox, the easy navigation, great price, and quality content, and brought it to the gay audience with all your favorite stars and studios. Browsing through the tour, which is identical to the member's area, you can get a quick taste of the video themes...amateur, bukkake, muscular, shaved, twinks, etc. There's a little something for everyone on what is sure to be one of our highest rated gay sites.
The Goods -
The price is awesome! Membership costs just $10 a month, a fantastic deal for this much porn. There is a premium option that costs $15 a month and will get you access to the same collection, only with DVD resolution movies that play at 2700k. That's a pretty big price jump but still very cheap compared to other sites.
As with VideoBox, Gay VideoBox is built to be incredibly user-friendly. To begin with, browsing is simple. You can view the content by DVD or by scene and you can browse by category, studio, series, or star. There's also a search box if you have something specific in mind. Once you've found your movie, you have a choice of playing it in three resolutions (four if you've got the premium membership) and you can create custom downloads by choosing exactly which scene to begin with and which to end with. It doesn't get much easier than that!
One of the most important aspects of a video site is its video quality and Gay VideoBox impressed me right off the bat. The High Quality movies play at 700k while the DVD Quality movies play at a whopping 2700k! The picture is so sharp, it really is like watching a DVD on your home television.
The site is updated frequently with a new DVD added every other day. Browsing through the previous updates you can see how consistant they are. You can definitely count on something new to be added to the site three or four times a week.
They've got a good sized collection of movies. Right now there are 144 full-length DVDs comprised of 640 scenes. That's over 200 viewable hours, more than enough to keep you busy between updates.
The Bads -
None of the videos on Gay VideoBox are exclusive so there's a fair chance you've seen some of this material elsewhere. They've got all the big studios included so you'll probably run into some flicks you've seen before.
This is a video-only site so you won't find any photos here. You won't even find any vidcaps really. They're not really missed but it is worth noting.
Gay VideoBox still has some work to do to catch up with its straight sister, VideoBox. They've got a much larger collection and daily updates. Hopefully, it's just a matter of time until Gay VideoBox catches up.
Conclusion -
Gay VideoBox lived up to all my expectations. The low price, great looking movies, and frequent updates come together for a fantastic value and the user-friendliness is the icing on the cake. For all your gay movie needs, Gay VideoBox should be your ultimate destination.
