Frat Boy is a gay video site with an emphasis on college type guys as the title clearly states. The collection of content is from Helix studios which is alluded to on the guest tour and is a big part of the member's area. Frat Boy is one of their sites and the others are included with membership here. The tour pages of Frat Boy are fairly informative with the ability to browse the scenes, models, and view in-browser sample trailers.
The Goods:
- Solo & Hardcore College Guy Videos. The site delivers with an original collection of solo guy masturbation and hardcore guy/guy scenes. The group of models fit well with the college theme in terms of appearance, age, and style. There are over a hundred video scenes and it's an entertaining mix of action that includes some locker room and other type settings that play up on the college focus.
- Full-Movie WMV Files, QT, & Flash Formats. The movie quality is okay and neither a strength or a weakness. A better aspect of the movies are the options which include full-movie downloadable WMV files, QuickTime, and in-browser Flash. Three separate formats is good to see from a site like this.
- Additional Helix Studios Sites/Content. Frat Boy is part of the Helix Studios network and in fact the member's area design is well incorporated with all the sites blended together as one. There are separate sections for the individual site collections. The network gives member's even more downloadable movies for their money.
The Bads:
- Not Much Movie, Model, Video File Info. About the only information posted is the model name and DVD title (if available). There are more items that aren't posted that would help. These include things like shoot length in minutes, video file size, a description, etc.
- Navigation Tools are For Network Only. The member's area design really is built upon having all the paysites integrated together. There are separate sections for Frat Boy's movies however the tools like the model index and category themes don't let you just look at Frat Boy's material. Those features always include content from all the sites. They could provide some more separation and tools to find or sort just Frat Boy's stuff (and the other individual sites for that matter).
- No Update Details or Log. Update information really is lacking across the site. They don't have any sort of update history log nor are the details posted on the individual movie pages. Our TBP site editors have noted that they update announce weekly updates and my guess is Frat Boy does add new stuff regularly. The lack of details does hurt though.
Conclusion:
Frat Boy has a decent amount of solo and hardcore videos that fit nicely with the college guy theme. With full-movie downloadable files and a few format choices they succeed in having good choices for members. While there aren't any glaring weaknesses there are a number of smaller items in terms of design and video quality that could use improving and chip away at the overall review score.
