FetishNation.com features the work of fetish photographer Ian Rath and explores the nature of bdsm in explicit, high quality pictures. Ian began this site as a hobby four years, never expecting it to grow to such large proportions. His fans are certainly grateful that it did, however. The fetish market is saturated with over-exposed, dated material and it is refreshing to find a site so dedicated to providing quality, exclusive photos that still push the limits of fetish erotica. The predominant theme here is bondage, though there is a good amount of torture and domination, as well.
The pictures are divided into five categories. The first is Bondage, though this is not the sort of rope play you find on most sites. These women are ties up with chains, straps, and of course ropes and it doesn't look like they're getting out of them any time soon. There are a number of tying techniques demonstrated and in some cases the women are actually suspended by their bonds off the ground. Whoever is doing the tying knows what they are doing. Next come the Fetish galleries; now it's time to get freaky. Here you'll find oxygen masks, needles, fisting, hot wax and lots and lots of latex. The Dungeon features more bondage except know they're tied up and tortured. Think ball gags, nipple clamps and labia weights (yikes!). The Vault features the best of the archives and Retro Girls features Bettie Page style vintage erotica. The picture quality is very good and very professional. They could have been a smidge larger but at 550x740 they're not too bad. The overall mood of the site is dark, classy and sophisticated. There isn't much sex here, though you will find masturbation, toys and oral in the sets scattered throughout. The models are all youngish and beautiful. I recognized several names from other reputable websites (Sydney Moon, Amber Michaels). I definitely enjoyed the pictures, though I would have preferred them slightly larger.
There are also around 30 videos available for members. On average they are about four minutes long each. They play in Real Player (kind of annoying to have to enter your password for each video, but that's Real Player for you) and are available in both streaming and download. While the video is being recorded there is a photographer taking pictures in the background. I found this a bit distracting. The videos follow the same themes as the pictures, lots of ropes and lots of domination. Quality could have been improved. The videos couldn't be watched at larger than 200% and overall they just didn't feel as professional as the pictures. The newest video, however, I found to be much clearer and hopefully that signals a move in the right direction.
Aside from the pictures and videos you'll find some erotic art, bondage stories and links to other bdsm resources. There isn't a ton of it but it's a nice addition and keeps with the direction of the site.
FetishNation.com is a very good bdsm website. The site is easy to maneuver, the photos are all exclusive and professional and the price is quite reasonable, considering new material is added once a week. I had a few gripes; the pictures could have been larger and more of them might be expected considering the site has been around for four years. However, overall this is a very enjoyable website and one sure to please both newbie and experienced fetish fans.

Ten months have passed since we last looked at Fetish Nation and it looks much the same. However, digging into the content I did find a few nice upgrades. First off, the pictures are larger. In my initial review I complained about the picture size of 550x740. 700x1000 seems to be the new standard here. That's a big improvement in my book. Second, the collection has grown a bit from 7,750 pictures to 8500 and 29 videos to 39. 12 new galleries and 10 videos added in 10 months is a little on the slow side but it's good to see the site still progressing.
Overall the site remains a good value. $20 a month for quality exclusive fetish content can't be beat. This site is well worth a membership and if you haven't checked it out yet I definitely recommend you do so. I'm changing a few scores but my total remains the same.

Fetish Nation is definitely due for a follow-up, with two years since our last visit. The site has grown a lot in that time, doubling the number of photos and videos. Photo size has again improved with new images looking great at 1200x800. They've also changed the video format with movies now playing in Windows Media Player. The only bad news to report is that the price has gone up to $24 for the first month, recurring at $22. That's not a huge jump and it's still very fair for a site with such good quality original fetish material.
Score increased from 82.0 to 83.1.
