EricDeman.com is a "video-clip library" of more than 13,500+ short videos and growing. We've already reviewed a site very much like it online called Ruggerbugger. Whereas that site focused mainly on image content, it looks like this one focuses more on video clips. Both members’ areas are extremely difficult to get around, so even though the type of sports & rugby content looks very much the same to me, there's no easy way to tell for sure. I can tell you that a membership starts at a ridiculously expensive $34.95 before dropping down to a somewhat cheaper $29.95 per month. How they can get away with charging so much, I have no idea. Can you tell already I'm not a huge fan?
The Good:
- Obviously this is one extremely large archive of unique sports/locker-room content. Short video clips feature great locker-room & shower action, rugby and soccer field action, accidental "pop-outs", shorts falling down on the field, men caught pissing in public, and even some military action. I haven't a clue where they get their material, but I can tell you that it's highly unique and interesting.
- New updates are added 6 days a week and each update consists of at least 5 new video clips. Generally speaking, this is how the content is browsed, but they have also added content categories at the bottom of the page to help you get around.
- Video quality is generally pretty good. They've started adding AVI files in addition to their WMW option.
The Bad:
- Where to start! While I like the uniqueness of the content here, I am instantly turned off by the super high price tag. It's not enough that the recurring price is rather high, but the initial join fee is almost $35 bucks - that's crazy!
- The site design, or lack thereof, is completely rough and amateur in style. At least this site offers some sort of content category feature, but the overall design really needs to be re-done professionally to better index and displaying the content.
- While there really is a ton of video content here, it should be noted that most clips aren't even a full minute in length and quality can range quite a bit from somewhat good to rather poor.
The Conclusion:
Overall there's something to be said about the novelty of this site. And if it were less than $15 bucks per month, I might even suggest a join just for those of you interesting in this unique type of content. Hell, we even had to create a new sub-category for it. But I digress, at almost $30 bucks per month and $35 just to get in the door, I really can't stand behind EricDeman.com. The design and organization just isn't there and everything just feels so jumbled together.
