DVD Store is a large online DVD archive offering unlimited downloads of all your newest and favorite adult movies. This genre of site is growing fast and DVD Store faces some stiff competition. Thankfully, they seem to have a few tricks up their sleeves, like a huge collection, large daily updates, and quality videos. They definitely seem ready to compete with the rest of them!
The Goods –
They’ve got a great sized collection of content. There are currently 2,245 DVDs online for a total of 10,674 scenes. All the big stars, studios, and categories are represented in their collection.
Their update schedule is great! Five new DVDs are added daily. Five! And not just scenes, but entire DVDS! They make it easy to see what’s new with the newest DVDs right on the homepage. It’s no wonder the site is this big with such large daily updates.
Video quality is very good. The DVD quality mpegs play at 3000k and are sharp and clear (see more on DVD quality content below). The wmvs and Quicktime clips also look good, but more average for a site like this. The mpegs are where they really shine.
Navigation is really easy, especially considering how big the site is. You can search both DVDs and scenes and filter by keyword, category, and studio. For browsing, you can view by genre, studio, or series. You can also view the newest, top rated, and most downloaded scenes. The only thing missing was a way to browse the actors.
The Bads –
Access to the higher quality movies doubles the membership price. You can access the medium quality movies for just $15 a month, but to see the DVD quality movies it’ll end up costing you $30 a month. That’s a big jump that does affect the value of the site compared to similar ones out there.
Obviously, the content here is all non-exclusive. You expect that coming into a site like this but it is something to keep in mind. None of this material is unique and it all can be found elsewhere easily.
Downloads didn’t come all that quickly. I got an average speed of 200 kbps. It’s not awful, but it did mean that watching the DVD quality mpegs would take a 30 minute wait. It’s hard to be patient when these large files come so slowly.
Conclusion –
DVD Store has a good thing going with their huge collection and daily updates. The high quality movies cost a good bit extra but even $30 a month isn’t out of line for a site like this. DVD Store is a very strong site for fans of adult movies. With an entertaining collection and a user-friendly site, this is up there with the best of them.
