DVD Store is a movie download site with a title that doesn't really convey that very well. I don't know about you but anytime I see the word "store" in a porn site title I assume it'll be a store front and not a paysite. Anyways, that's pretty trivial and once you get to the site it's clear this is a paysite with a big collection of DVDs for downloading.
The Goods:
- Large Collection of DVDs & Studios. There are a couple thousand DVDs on the site covering all the popular niches you'd expect from a general movie site. The studio list is deep just on it's own and something interesting is I don't see Red Light District on the list. So many video sites have used that company's content that it's worth noting that these have gone with other studios.
- High Vid Quality, Good Options. The DVD quality MPEG are very sharp indeed. The other options are noteworthy as well since there are WMV, QuickTime, and iPod as well. Movies are broken down by scene and each scene is offered as one big file.
- Many DVDs Added Daily. The update pace seems to be 5 DVDs per day which is excellent. They already have a large library of movies and if they keep this up it'll continue to grow at an outstanding pace. One or two new movies per day tends to be standard for DVD download sites so these guys are far surpassing that.
- Clean Layout & Design. The overall look of the site is professional and easy to understand. The tools include browsing by genre, studio, series, and a keyword search box for titles and pornstars. Movies have performers listed which can be clicked on to bring up other films with that girl.
The Bads:
- DVD Quality Costs Extra. The medium quality membership is nice and cheap at $14.95/mo but for the real deal high resolution movies it'll run you $29.95/mo. That's quite a gap and basically to get the full value out of what they have to offer you'll have to go with the higher price.
- Slow Download Speeds. This is an important issue for a site of this kind. Surfers want to be able to download the movies quickly so the slow downloading is a pain. I intentionally visited the site on two different days to make sure it wasn't a temporary issue. The DVD quality vids are large files which means they take a long time to save. It's a shame too because they have a nice selection of format and quality levels.
- Some Niches Could be Larger. Browsing the collection I jotted down these niches which are average sized or small: Amateur, Blowjob, Asian, Latina, and Mature/Milf. Those are some popular categories so I wish they'd bulk them up and round out the collection.
- Non-Exclusive Content. This is simply the nature of DVD sites like this but still something I make sure to note on my reviews.
Conclusion:
DVD Store is a well rounded movie download sites with a sizeable database of movies and a well-built site. They should continue to get larger at a fast pace based on the current update pace. Non-members can browse the site exactly as members see it so taking a few minutes to browse around should let you know if they have the titles or niches you're looking for.
