Intro

DVD Peak is a straightforward DVD/movie download site. They have thousands of full-length DVDs in a mix of popular niches geared towards a general hardcore audience. The guest tour is an open-book layout where visitors can complete view the site just as members see it so you can get a total overview of what's available before signing up. A few minutes there should tell you if they have the titles, stars, or studios you're interested in.

The Pros

Large Collection of Downloadable DVDs, Many Popular Niches.

DVD Peak's best asset is the sizable amount of DVDs available. The total number is several thousand and they cover popular niche categories along with some more micro-niches like creampie, handjob, and tiny tits. It's always improtant to look at the quantity for movie site like this and these guys do fine in that area.

WMV Downloads, Full-Scene & Clip Segment Options.

The movie downloading options are consistent and they have WMV as their chosen format. Full-scene downloadable files are available as are clip segments. Nothing too confusing about the set-up and if you're going to go with just one format WMV is probably the best choice.

The navigation is fairly standard for a movie site of this kind with a clear list of niche categories down the left margin of the site. There are also drop-down scroll boxes for pornstar names, studios, and more niches. There is also a keyword search tool.

Other Good Stuff:

A content count ticker in the member's area highlights the total number of available DVDs and scenes.
Members can rate scenes on a 5-star scale.
Monthly membership price is pretty decent.

The Cons

Average Video Quality & Slowish Download Speeds.

Along with quantity of content the other main item I go looking for on movie sites is the content quality. DVD Peak's movies have average specs and are only fair for a site like this. The download speeds are also a bit slow at around 400-450KB/sec. There is room for improvement in both these areas.

Site is No Longer Updating, No Update Specifics on DVDs.

The home page does have a list of Recent Updates although they don't provide any actual date specifics. Also, according to our TBP content count mangers the site no longer appears to be adding new content.

No Model Index w/ Pictures, Niche Browsing Could Be Improved.

The model list is available only in text format through a drop-down scroll box. No full model index with preview pictures of the pornstars is available. Also, the niche categories are overly broad with any DVD having any scene remotely related to that niche included in the section. For instance there are movies with one Asian pornstar in one scene listed in the Asian category.

Minor Negatives:

Non-Exclusive collection of content.
The downloadable movie files do not have any file size information posted.
There are pre-checked cross-sells on the join page.

Bottom Line

Several thousand downloadable DVDs in WMV format but the site is no longer updating.

DVD Peak best selling point is that it does offer a lot of downloadable full-length DVD movies. That's the necessary foundation of any movie site so it's worth noting. Beyond that they only do satisfactory in terms of the video quality and download speed. Also, the lack of updates is something that is very unusual as DVD site often add new movies daily or at least many time a week. These items do chip away at the value of what is otherwise a straightforward source of movies.
