Intro

DVD Download is sort of a hybrid site in that they are a movie/video download site with a pay-per-movie pricing structure. Usually download sites are monthly membership based and PPV revolve around streaming and rentals. Here the movies are downloadable and you purchase them individually through a credit system or directly on your credit card. The guest tour is pretty much an open book so before creating an account it is possible to see what movies, scenes, and models they have and you can also get a feel for the pricing structure.

The Pros

Pay-Per-View DVD Movies that are Downloadable.

The pay-per-download structure here is sort of unique. It's a good fit for users who see a handful of movies they really want on the tour. Generally PPV DVD movie sites restrict things to streaming or rentals so this one gives member the chance to purchase and download content on an individual movie or scene basis. Movies are in WMV and MP4 files for downloading. Sometimes they have full movies and individual scenes to choose from. There is in-browser streaming as well.

Clear Pricing Info for Full-Movies & Individual Scenes.

I like the up-front price details as they have each movie and scene (if applicable) clearly marked with the cost. When you go to download there is a confirmation screen to let you know you're about to pay for the movie so that gives you a chance to back out if you reconsider. Users should know exactly what they're getting and how much they're gonna be charged without any surprises.

Good Amount of European DVDs, Interesting Mix.

While DVD Download isn't a massive site the thing that jumped out at me was that they feature a lot of European porn. There are niche sections for Dutch, Dutch Classics, and German movies. There are American studios to be sure however with those Euro titles in the mix it gives it a different feels than many other DVD sites.

Other Good Stuff:

Account balance is clearly shown on the site header when you are logged in. There is an account page with personal details and account info.
Some HD movies are available in with specs of 1280x720. They tag/mark these scenes/movies clearly.

The Cons

Could Use More Movies, No Update Info Provided.

The amount of movies here is decent however PPV DVD sites are generally known for having massive libraries of titles from tons of studios. This collection isn't nearly as deep as many of their competitors. Update information is also lacking. Our TBP content fact managers have noted the total number of movies hasn't been growing recently.

Can be Expensive Compared to Monthly DVD Sites.

The price here is generally around $3.95 to $6.95 per movie and around $.95 to $1.95 per scene. IF you start getting half a dozen or more movies then you're looking at the cost of a full month membership at a site with a traditional monthly price structure.

Minor Negatives:

Video quality varies. Most of the movies seem to be in standard-def which has only mediocre specs.
Some of the niche categories are small. Also they seem to have a mix of full movies and individual scenes which is a bit confusing.
They have tranny and gay sections which don't really fit in. It detracts from the total hetero movies and there aren't really enough of either that a fan of those fetishes would find it worthwhile.

The other

The site is available in multiple languages and they have pricing in both U.S. Dollars and Euros.

Bottom Line

A DVD site with a somewhat unique pay-per-download price structure & good amount of European porn.

Really the two things that are most noticeable about DVD Download are the PPV set-up and also the mix of Euro and U.S. movies. Other than that things are pretty straightforward as the guest tour allows visitors to get a good overview if you spend some time browsing around there. IT's not the biggest DVD site around but the a-la-carte pricing for movies might be something some surfers find appealing.
