DVDBoys.com is a gay and bi-sexual DVD site offering more than 161+ full-length DVD's including twinks to bears, athletes to bondage, Asians, gangbangs, bisexuals and more. New DVD scenes are added daily and your options for download are plentiful, ranging from iPod & MOV to WMV and even "DVD resolution". The best news is that there's no daily download limit and a membership here will only cost you $14.99 per month (medium/300k quality videos only). However, if you're like me and are interested in the nicer quality stuff, you'll have to shell out twice that, which is rather displeasing if you ask me.
The Good:
- Clearly there's a lot of gay video content here and new DVD's are being added daily. If you stick with the basic $14.99/mo membership, it also won't break the bank on you. And finally, no download limits means you can get in, download to your hearts content and come back later when you're in the need of something more.
- If you do go for the more expensive membership ($29.95 per month), you get access to the higher quality videos. They've only got a WMV format streaming as high as 800k, but the MPEG format looks a bit nicer.
- Download options are plentiful, and you can also click on any scene to choose and start and end point within. This is offered for the high and medium MPEG files only so you must be a premium member in order to have access to this option.
- DVD's are broken down into categories, genres, by studio or series. You can also search using multiple filters or by keyword for titles or pornstars.
The Bad:
- I have to admit, I wasn't wowed by the quality of the video content here, and even the "DVD resolution" was lacking for me at times. Not to mention how unbearably slow the download times were. It's also a bit of a disappointment to have to pay twice as much just to be able to view them, considering the medium quality formats are really something closer to average and below.
- As with almost any DVD site, this is non-exclusive content and comparatively, there's not such a large archive of content here yet either.
The Conclusion:
My overall impression of DVD Boys is a mildly lack-luster one; there just wasn't anything about the site that really jumped out at me. Sure, they've got some nice search features (although no pornstar listing), and the download options are abundant, but the quality could stand to be improved some and the real kicker is that you have to pay more for the higher quality option. Just set the price at an even $20 bucks a month and give us all the options. If you're in the market for a gay DVD site, DVD Boys might be worth a look, but at this point there are at least a few sites out there offering the same thing and doing it better.
