DVD Box is a straightforward video download site with movies in a wide number of popular niches. The basic site layout is user-friendly in that non-members can browse the entire collection to see exactly what titles and scenes are offered before signing up. Navigation for guests and members is identical with the obvious exception that only member's can access the vids.
The Goods:
- Nice Sized DVD Collection. The sheer number of movies available is definitely the site's best asset. They're spread fairly evenly over a number of niches which include all the basics for a general hardcore audience. The usual suspects are the fullest namely hardcore, teen, and also fetish simply because that category is a catch-all for all the fetishes.
- Clean Site Layout. Right from the get-go the layout and design are simple to figure out. Movies can be browsed by category, Star, Series, or Studio and the individual movie pages also have quick hyperlinks thru to this information. Front and back box covers along with a decent number of preview thumbs for each scene are good to see too.
- Daily Updates. This will continue to make the collection grow at a nice pace as 2 new DVDs are getting added daily. A couple notable update features include a ticking clock telling when the next update will be and a coming soon page laying out future additions.
The Bads:
- Could Use More Niche Breakdown. These guys have stuck to the basics when it comes to categorization. Specifically the fetish section really needs some further sub-categorization because as it stands you've got everything lumped together from gaping anal to midgets and pregnant.
- Limited Download Options. These guys only offer full movie WMV files in two quality levels. There are no clips or other formats available. As a movie download site it'd be nice if they bulked up the options here to make things more user-friendly.
- Large Gay Category. I only mention this because over 15% of the collection is taken up by the gay and tranny categories which makes a noteworthy dent into the number of videos for most members. I guess it really stood out because the Gay category has the second most movies next to the hardcore category.
Conclusion:
After a while it hit me that DVD Box does not include movies from the Red Light District studio. So many movie sites over the past few years have built their collection from that studio so it's a little different not to see any of those scenes mixed in here. That didn't really fit into my good or bad points but I figured I'd note it here. Finally these guys have set up a low membership price for TBP users which helps in the price and value fields.

DVD Box has continued to update the collection daily and now has well over two thousand DVD titles available to members. They seem to have also done a bit more work on the niche breakdown with dedicated sections to Anal, Granny/GILF, and some others. One category that jumped out at me was the Classic/Vintage which has about 50 titles which is pretty good for those into old school movies. The viewing/download options seem to have been expanded with a video format conversion tool. I wasn't able to locate any specific help or details on using that future although there are a wide number of formats offered (DivX, MPEG, MOV, MP4, etc.). The main download choices remain big and small WMV files. DVD Box remains a solid source of good quality downloadable DVD movies.
Score increased from 86.0 to 88.0.
