Today we're looking at a site called Dixter, and a quick trip through the tour will yield some solo and gay content up for viewing. They actually don't give you a ton of info about the site, but they do a really good job at showing you what they offer inside. Their preview is a full version of their member's area, without the content of course. It works well for now as the site isn't huge. Membership is $22, until your fourth month where it drops down a few bucks monthly.
The goods:
- Exclusive gay content. Of course it's the bread and butter of the site, but then again, it does have to be mentioned here too. Everything here seems exclusive, and is definitely in the male/gay niche as well.
- Updates do come, I think. Judging by our own content counts we did over a month ago, the site has grown a little since then from what I'm seeing. Nothing is dated, but hopefully the growth is a good sign.
The bads:
- Needs growth. It's not a very large site currently, with under 40 scenes total. Add in the fact that it seems like updates are a bit slow, and it's not necessarily good news here.
- Updates not dated, seem slow. Nothing is dated, so updates are definitely hard to figure out. We do our own content counts at least, and it looks like they've added two scenes in the last month and a week, which isn't the best schedule.
- Quality could be better. The videos come in about 640x480, which was promising, but the bitrate is only around 700kbps which is pretty low. If they doubled that, they'd be closer to average, and I'd hope for an even bigger jump than that if they re-did them.
Conclusion:
Dixter looks good on the surface, with a clean site and some exclusive content, but the details are really lacking here. The lack of content and updates definitely hurt the most, and the lagging quality isn't helping much either. We just need a boost of activity here to really get the site going, because it feels too stagnant with where it's at now.
