Today we're going to look at the official website from a studio called Devil's Film. I'm not much into the mainstream porn video scene so I've never heard of them before, but they've been producing movies for over 15 years so they should know their shit. I assume this will be an archive site of all their films I'd assume, but at only 146 DVD's up right now I thought they'd have more. They also charge a bit much at $30 a month, but at least you're dealing with original content here (though I'm not sure if they let other sites show their videos as well or not).
The goods:
- Lots of videos up obviously. Compared to most any other paysite, all DVD-based sites like this usually crush them in terms of content numbers. Assuming each DVD has multiple scenes (5-6 each?), we're talking about 700+ porn scenes available here. That should be enough to keep most anyone busy for a while.
- Quality is great. The specs themselves put them at near-DVD quality, and when you watch them they look great. There's some very slight room for improvement compared to the top video sites out there, but that's being very nit picky for sure. Compared to most any other site, these videos are top dog.
- New scene up daily. They add something new every single day in the form of a new scene. That definitely helps them grow, though check out the cons section since their updates aren't as good as some other video sites out there.
The bads:
- A bit smaller than other video sites. Like I said, it's huge compared to most any other paysite, but there are other video sites out there with more content yet. You can't complain too much, but it's worth mentioning.
- Updates aren't as large either. Most often, a new scene put up daily would be more than enough to satisfy me. However, when other sites are putting up a new DVD each day (let alone our top sites putting up five full DVD's per day), you have to make note of these things.
- Another video type would be nice. They offer a few quality options for both downloadable and actual streaming WMV videos which is cool, but for those that don't enjoy WMV, they don't offer anything else. I'd love to see an MPG, DivX, Quicktime, or all three added as well to give the most possible options.
- Navigation could be better still. They give you the basics such as browsing by movie, models, categories, and series of films, but that's pretty much it. There's no real search feature, and you can't nail things down more than just one selection. On top of that, once you choose one I don't much like their display of the movies either. They made the thumbnail previews a bit too large, and they don't separate one movie from the next very well. This leads to a huge page that's just too cluttered to figure out for me right off the bat.
Conclusion:
The videos, the exclusivity, the quality, and the overall site are all quite good. I've been saying it a lot, but compared to most paysites out there, you're getting quite a good deal here. Compared to other DVD-based sites, I'd put it more in the average category. There's nothing really that sets themselves apart from the others in this arena. However, don't get discouraged as it's most definitely a solid join that's worth a look if they have some videos you wanna check out.
