It's hard to believe it's already time for a re-review here at DesiPapa.com, I hardly remember it from the first, second, or last time around. Although once I hit the tour page it all comes running back. To recap, this is an Indian movie site, probably the largest around and rightly so as it has been online since 1998. In ten years DesiPapa has managed to collect together more than 340+ DVD's, a far cry from the 96 that were available on our initial visit almost 3 years ago. The price of entry has gone up since then too, but not by much. A membership here will cost you about $23 bucks per month. So let's get to it and see what all is new, and hopefully improved since our last look inside the member's area.
The Good:
- Large archive of Indian specific video content. For those of you only interested in lovely Indian babes, there's no doubt this is the place to be. All 340+ videos are exclusively of Indian women in hardcore porno titles. From young to old, hairy to shaved, fucked hard and ready for more, there certainly is a large variety of DVD content.
- Some video information provided. Video size, format, duration, resolution, and quick descriptions are given for each video update. I'm not sure how helpful all this information is to the amateur Indian DVD content enthusiast, but at least it gives users an idea of what to expect.
- Decent price tag. Since our initial review back in 2005, the price of admission has only gone up about $3 bucks per month (from $19.95 to $22.95). The multi-month membership option is still being offered to users for the low price of $9.95 per month.
- Clean design. With the exception of the archived content (up to 2006), the clean design of the tour carries over into the member's area.
The Bad:
- Quality ranges between average and below average. Most of the archived files are AVI/Xvid format (although some MPG and WMV files do exist), but the resulting video quality is often times very grainy and choppy. I'd go so far as to say that some of the content here is downright unwatchable! When it comes to the newer content, WMV formats take over with bitrates ranging between 500k and 2000k. Overall, the quality could be better and more consistent all around.
- No date stamps on content/updates are slow coming. The only update information offered is when the last update was added and when the next one can be expected. For this review it would seem as though updates are added about once per month. I should add that up to 10 new videos are added each time, however.
- No browse/navigational/download options. No content categories or search features, multiple download formats or model index, nothing.
The Conclusion:
DesiPapa is one of those sites that just keeps on doing what they're doing regardless of what we say, or where the Adult Internet industry is going. Meaning, they must be doing something right. No change to the member's area has happened since our last visit, I don't think, but the overall collection of Indian specific videos has grown quite a bit over time. Updates appear to be a monthly thing, but about 10 videos added for the month of August. Each runs anywhere from 15 to 20+ minutes, so all together that's not too bad. I'm still lukewarm on DesiPapa, but one strong opinion of mine is the desire for higher quality videos. Maybe they're just too hard to get based on the type of content this is, but something needs to be done to improve it. In the end, I'd still have to call DesiPapa your one-stop shop for all things Desi/Indian.
