Desi Papa is a large Indian movie collection that offers up an uncensored look at hot Indian pornstars in hardcore movies. We first reviewed Desi Papa back in 2005 and since then the collection has grown and the site has been developed into a very attractive niche site. Just as it did when we first looked at the collection, the authenticity of it all impressed me more than anything.
The Goods –
There’s a pretty good-sized collection of movies. There are currently over 337 DVDs online. By mainstream porn standards, that may not be huge. However, we’re talking about a fairly specialized niche. There aren’t many Indian sites out there offering authentic movies like these. In that respect, 337 DVDs isn’t bad.
Some information is provided about the movies. You get a boxcover, a brief description, the running time, a list of stars, and a rating. That’s not a ton, but considering this is a niche site, I was pleased.
The site design is clean and attractive. The font and colors are appropriate to the genre without being too themey. The graphics look good and there’s no clutter to the design. It’s an all around good-looking site.
The Bads –
It appears that updates come just once a month. There isn’t really a true update schedule, just a single line that tells when the last update was (currently, August 2) and when the next update will come (September 5). There just isn’t enough going on here to keep people coming back.
There are no tools for getting around the site. The videos are simply listed in the order they were added. All of 2008’s videos are on one page, 2007 videos on the next, and so on. That works out to a lot of scrolling! There’s no way to sort the movies alphabetically, by category, by pornstar, by user rating, or anything. It’s a very disorganized collection.
Video quality could be much better. It’s odd because the actual specs are between 500k and 2000k, yet the 2000k scenes look hardly any better than the 500k ones. All of the scenes are grainy and pixilated. There are no options for different quality settings or formats either.
Conclusion –
If the exotic beauties of India are the women of your dreams, go ahead and check out Desi Papa. It’s a reasonably good collection for $23 a month within a smaller niche. Compared to more mainstream sites, however, there is a lot of work to be done. My three complaints are not minor. They definitely need more updates, more user tools, and a quality upgrade. I know this is one we’ll come back to again in time; hopefully we’ll see continued improvements.
