Intro

Comixxx Archive is a site that actually does have a very appropriate name. These guys feature a large collection of sex/adult comics. You can get a feel for them with about a half a dozen samples on the guest tour. What you can't get a feel for is the scope of the collection although they do have some numbers posted about the number of comics being around several thousand. That is indeed is the case as the site features a sizable database of comics. They forego videos and just focus in on gallery style comic content for their entire collection.

The Pros

Huge Database of Adult/Sex Comics, Years of Archives.

Sheer quantity is a positive here as there is just a lot to see in the member's area. A section called Hardcore & Softcore is the most sizable section and there is over eighty pages of entries there with a dozen comics on each page. Combined with the other niche categories means there is a lot to see. All the content fits nicely with the sex comics theme and many of the comics are large in their own right with fully developed stories and many pages.

Mix of Hard/Softcore, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Art, & Foreign.

Just as important as the quantity is the variety that's found here. As you can tell by the niche categories these comics hit on a number of different themes making it a well rounded collection. There is quite a lot of different styles too which keeps things from getting repetitive. The foreign sections include comics from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.

Easy to Use Viewer, Nice Image Quality & Zip Downloads.

The comics viewer is easy to use and loads quickly. An index of pages is shown down the left margin with the full size image in the center of the screen. Although the image size does vary a bit the overall sizes are large and the quality is solid. There are also full-comic zip file downloads for each gallery.

Other Good Stuff:

Content is updated regularly and all comics are date-stamped with update info showing when they were added to the site.
Comics are categorized by niche including Hardcore & Softcore, BDSM & Fetish, Fantasy & Sci-Fi, Horror, Art, and several foreign comic categories.

The Cons

Could Use Additional Content Categorization & Comic Details.

The Hardcore & Softcore niche category is the main content section in the member's area. With the comics going back a number of years now this section can be a bit unwieldy. It's possible to sort by date, rating, or number of views. There is a lot of different styles of comics in there which leads to a lot of hunting and pecking to find what you're looking for. My guess is comic enthusiasts who know what they're looking for might find the browsing/search tools here a bit underdeveloped especially in this big section. There also really isn't any background info on the comics nor are they labelled by type.

Pretty High Monthly Price & Bonus Sites Access is Loyalty Based.

Often times specialty sites like this have a higher than standard price and that's the case here. The fact is they do have a lot to offer but still the cost is about five bucks higher than your standard paysite. The bonus site information on the guest tour is misleading in that they lead you to believe membership comes with full access to all the listed sites. Actually, sites are added one per month for recurring members so essentially this is a standalone site except for members who stay for a long time.

Minor Negatives:

No video content. Only a small collection of bonus galleries and Flash animations.
Some of the niche sections are fairly small and get updated less frequently.

Bottom Line

A big database of adult comics with lots of variety & user-friendly viewing/downloading options.

Adult comics is definitely a micro-niche and it's always interesting to take a look at sites like this with a very specific focus. The defining characteristics of Comixxx Archive are the size of the archive, easy-to-use viewer, zip file downloads, and the variety (including foreign comics in several languages). The negatives to pay attention to include the higher than average price, loyalty based bonus sites, and the navigation which is underdeveloped in a couple areas. Also, it does stand out that they only have a few videos in a bonus section so unlike many other sites like this there is not a collection of animations to view or download. Taking everything into account the positives outweigh the negatives by a good margin which earns the site a solid rating.
