Sophie Dee is a pornstar that I'm not familiar with so I immediately went looking for her bio. The full list of personal info is actually inside the member's area but some stats and movie titles are shown on one of the last tour pages. Basically she's a hot chick from the UK who does movies with guys, girls, groups, etc. This is her official website which she personally maintains.
The Goods:
- Pics/Vids plus Interaction Features. Sophie has most of the components in place that I look for from an official pornstar site. The picture galleries and videos are accompanied by interaction in terms of a diary, webcam shows & chat, and a forum. She's done an okay job with putting together a balanced site. The pics and vids are a mix of solo, hardcore, girl/girl, appearance, and group action. The pics tend to have more of the solo variety while the vids have more of Sophie with others.
- Constant Diary Entries w/ Archives. Sophie's diary has monthly archives going back a year (as of Aug '07). She's always been good at doing several entries per week and recently she's ramped that up to every day. Even though they aren't lengthy entries the regularity is commendable and it makes for steady interaction.
- Nice Design & Regular Updates. The site design is well done with some style to it. The member's area has the same look as the guest tour. Recent updates are posted on the member's main page with photos and videos each updated twice per week. Additionally, all of the photo galleries on the site are dated.
The Bads:
- Pics/Vids Could Use Categorization. This is the one item that I felt was missing from the design. The pictures and videos have separate section but are only listed chronologically. With the blend of material it would help to have some sub-categorization to find the style of content desired.
- No Gallery or Video Shoot Details. The galleries and videos are a mix of stuff that could use some context. Some sort of a brief note or summary would give the material a much more personal touch and explain if it's from a movie, private shoot, appearance, or whatever. As it is only a title is given with no further info.
- Videos Section Isn't Dated. This isn't a huge issue since the video updates are posted on the site but since the photo galleries are date-stamped it's unusual that the videos aren't. It just seems like something that got overlooked.
Conclusion:
While it's not an enormous site Sophie has put together a solid official site for herself. All he components that I look for seem to be in place so the main thing I'll be looking for in the future is growth and maybe more of a focus on behind-the-scenes style content that her fans may be looking for.
