This is a full re-review of Club Jenna which is her official website. TBP has had official reviews for Club Jenna for years and it's time for a fresh analysis. From what I've seen the site has undergone some changes in terms of its ownership and management and it's now part of the Adult.com/Playboy family of sites. Official pornstar sites are always different from other paysites and this one even more so because of Jenna's huge stature and the network it's a part of.
The Goods:
- Official Jenna Site, Lots of Content. This is indeed the official internet home of Jenna Jameson. The content pretty much covers all the bases including picture galleries, videos, advice, news, diary, cams, and more. All-in-all it's a sizable collection of content of Jenna plus you've got stuff of other starlets thrown in too.
- Lots of Galleries, Multiple Niches. The picture gallery section has the most material in it. The galleries are broken down by niche and include Glamour, Hardcore, Jenna as Jenna, Jenna's Archives, Jenna's Fetish, and Jenna's Kick Pix. It's pretty well-rounded and is the strongest part of the member's area. For the most part the pictures are nice and sharp with a size of around 600x900 so the size prevents them from being labeled as high-res by TBP standards.
- Behind-the-Scenes & Appearance Videos. The videos section is smaller than the picture galleries but offers up many different styles of content too. There are full length movies, Jenna Masturbations, Jenna Appearances, Behind-the-Scenes, and a Video Diary. The behind-the-scenes, appearance, and diary are what I find most interesting since this is the type of extra material that fans are supposed to get from an official site in addition to the basic pic/vid material.
- Bonus Pornstar & Network Content. Upon logging in members are sent to the Member's Gateway which links through to Club Jenna and also has about a dozen other pornstars as well. Spice and Playboy are the other tabs although it's a mix of included content/sites and others that you'd have to sign up for separately.
The Bads:
- In-Browser Movies, Low Vid Quality. This is a key item that immediately takes away from the value of the site's content. Basically they strike out in terms of video options. Usually there are high and low quality options but the higher level is pretty unimpressive. Streaming only in-browser is a big negative for any paysite and it will be disappointing to Jenna fans not to be able to save the behind-the-scenes vids for later.
- Weak Interaction w/ Cam Chats & Diary. Jenna's chats haven't taken place for years and her written diary entries seem to be on their last legs too. No diary entries have been posted for about half-a-year leading up to this review. Prior to that they were slow and short anyways. Furthermore the Chat navigation section has links to other pay services namely Jenna' Love Connection Dating and Virtually Jenna. Interaction is a clear weakness at Club Jenna.
- Sporadic Updates in Some Sections. This kind of goes hand in hand with the previous point about the lack of updates to her interaction features. Additionally some of the best video section haven't seen additions in years and the picture gallery updates are average at best with some inconsistencies.
- Members Area Upsells. Upsells are worked into the design in numerous ways. As I was checking out Jenna's content sections I found some links mixed in to outside paysites. Plus there are things like store banners and the bonus network has both content sites as well as non-included paysites where you're led onto the tours.
Conclusion:
Club Jenna is an official site that meets expectation is some areas but also has shortcomings. The size of the picture gallery section is the foundation and the videos have a nice mix of stuff too. Actually all the features of a complete official site seem to be in place but it's the execution that has fallen off over the years. The behind-the-scenes and interaction parts of the site have gone silent and in its place is the inclusion of network bonus content. Jenna does enough things well to earn a good review score even though there are some negatives that chip away at the value.
