CherryPuff.com is one cheery looking website that offers hundreds (390+) of full-length DVD's for one very low monthly price of only $9.95 per month. You'll find some old school classics as well as some newer hits, hot babes, amateur, voyeur and more. This is a very basic site, and I for one missed all the bells and whistles that you might find elsewhere, but it is hard to complain about full-length video content and the fact that there's a lot of it for one reasonable price.
The Good:
- Cherry Puff has got the numbers game down with hundreds of full-length videos in a variety of different categories. Many of these titles might look familiar to you and there is a nice variety of both old and new.
- $9.95 per month is a sweet deal for just about any site nowanddays, not to mention a DVD site.
The Bad:
- My biggest complaint is that all DVD's are click and play/in-browser only and without the option for download. That's right, there are no downloads available for members.
- Video quality leaves a lot to be desired. There are basically only 2 option for viewing and even the "broadband" option is less than average.
- The site design is so basic that there aren't even any browsing options besides the category menu listed. There's no way to browse by actress, studio, niche, or anything of that sort. Even a basic search feature would be helpful.
- No clear update schedule makes it hard to tell just how often new content can be expected. Sure they've already got a nice-sized archive of content going, but I'd like to see some date stamps and updates showing what's new, etc.
The Conclusion:
Basically Cherry Puff is a simple DVD site that has managed to collect quite a few title in their time, but doesn't offer anything exciting when it comes to browsing or viewing them. The design is so basic that it leaves a lot to be desired and the lack of viewing options, quality video and the fact that nothing is downloadable, all the sudden makes the $9.95 price tag start to look a little less appealing. I'd really love to see more viewing/download option offered, for starters, and then maybe adding a search feature would help, but for now I think I'd shell out a little more dough somewhere else just for the higher quality video & downloads.
| 1st Follow-Up Review |
Review: 05-23-08 |
I can't say I'm exactly sure why we're doing a follow-up on this site already. We even just recently reviewed one of Cherry Puff's sister sites, Kiwi Puff, and I must admit I was less than thrilled with doing it. The site designs are carbon copies, although some of the video content might differ throughout. Either way, these are basic content sites with no real thrills to speak of. In the last 10+ since our initial review, Cherry Puff has only managed to add a handful of videos (15+), which means that updates are coming nowhere near as often as they should be. At only $9.95 per month, I'm not sure how much one can really complain, but I like to think most would prefer to spend the extra $5 bucks/month or so for lots more videos and user features. Unfortunately my score might drop just a bit considering the lack of recent updates.
Score decreased from 74.0 to 73.5.
